Why is Australia media the best reporting on what's going on in LA?

If you compare American media with Australian media, about reporting on what's happening in Los Angeles, you'll find some notable differences. An example is this video.

Why is that a country thousands of miles away does a better job or reporting than the local American media?

Most of the media in USA is leftist liberal propaganda that wants to minimize the damage done. Their basic go to motto is “believe our words not your eyes”

I think you give our media too much credit. It is heavily left wing for the most part. (Skye = Fox by the way. and is conservative).

However there is still some recognition that there should be an appearance of lack of bias.

It is not as if we are without extremists. Nearby to me some - I'll loosely say protesters to be nice - set fire to a synagogue whilst orthodox Jews were in early morning prayer.

The difference is I'd suggest is that with our lower population, the extreme left lack critical mass and the sensible center predominates and intensely dislikes violence of this type. Media can't afford to ignore the center where as some US media might be able to.

by the way Skye has an excellent regular section called Lefties Losing It by Rita Panahi. Extremely funny and well worth watching. Don't know if you get it or something similar on Fox. It possibly helps to tone down extremism via ridicule.

Agenda can come from owners or particular media personalities and from back room staff... but audiences get a vote in what they will watch.

What I am suggesting is with commercial networks their value is in the audience share since that affects their advert revenue. Say they piss of labor voters to the degree labor voter just won't watch channel X. That means they lose 50% roughly of their potential audience from their editorial decision. Possibly not a good financial decision.

My hypothesis is that with a smaller population you can't afford to piss people off. In small country towns you have to be friends with everyone.

With larger populations you can perhaps target a particular view point as a commercial decision.

Well seems kinda odd but it actually does take standing from a distance to understand how each small piece of a picture works in painting a big picture.

They have no need to have a bias towards trump or democratic candidates even though they are a representative democracy like we have been. They remind me of us before trump. Back when things made since. So yeah its not b. s. news reporting

SkyNews is well known for their conservative bias. It has nothing to do with their origins in Australia. Where, just like in the US, the mainstream media is extremely liberally biased.
