Just a couple of weeks ago Ukraine had a big win taking the fight to Russia. They actually hurt Russia. The issue is it took over a year to plan. If you can’t be having those types of wins every week then you are done. Zelenskyy has been done but the politicians making money off this war like to convince Zelenskyy that just a little more fighting and things will turn around.
For the Ukrainian people this war needs to end. And personally I believe any politician that makes money off of war needs to be removed (with force if need be).

I dont see why not. Obviously, sending weapons are more effective (which is why USA has primarily sent weapons rather than money) but regardless its a good investment for USA.

Ukraine is an important cornerstone in the world due to its strategic location, its food production and natural resources. For example, leveraging Ukraine could help stabilize the middle east and boost the technology sector in USA and EU while at the same time put pressure on Russia to remain the weak pathetic shell of what it once was.

There isn't really an alternative either. Either USA maintains an army that can beat Russia, which is part of why USAs army costs a trillion dollar a year right now, or USA tosses a few billions as a one-time payment to Ukraine since they appear to be more than willing to die for USAs international ambitions.

For me the equation is simple. Billions are less than trillions and one time payments are better than running costs.

@NoDecision Yea, we CAN afford it. The Pentagon looses that amount of money in their couch. We could also put money to shore up Social Security, among other important social programs, but WE DON’T. It boils down to political will. We could (should) cut the defense budget to pay for everything! We have a couple fewer air craft carriers or submarines, and there’s plenty of money to go around.
Unfortunately we probably won’t because we always seem to do stupid shit.

First off they need weapons, food , and medical supplies not money. Weapons cost money food cost money medical supplies cost money.
