I'm cis, white, and straight, so living near MAGAs probably wouldn't qualify as dangerous for me personally, just deeply unpleasant, and I'm under the impression living in an active gang's area would be relatively dangerous so I'd probably pick MAGA in terms of personal safety.

That said, I imagine my answer might change somewhat if I were of a different identity. I don't think I would feel very safe living near MAGA folks if I would LGBTQ+ or something, ya know? It's like, the gang would be more likely to commit violent crime, just MAGA would be more likely to commit crime targeting me specifically in that case. I feel like being harmed via a random act of violence is less scary than being the victim of a targeted hate crime on some level.

@FunkyMonkee Tell that to every LGBTQ+ person who has been the victim of a hate crime, ya know? There are plenty of people out there with enough hate and fear to become dangerous. Like no, not every MAGA, or even most, is going to commit a violent hate crime, but it's definitely a group that does socially and politically target LGBTQ+ people, among others. Being in those spaces can be really difficult and scary when you're a member of a targeted population.

I do think that being in a space with gang activity would generally be more physically dangerous, but it's still important to consider why someone might even suggest that it would be preferable to some other situation.

I've been the victim of hate crimes for "sexual" reasons and I still voted for Trump 3 times!! Mostly, because it was democrats that committed the crimes against me! I know of a number of gay or trans people that either voted for Trump or don't feel at all scared to live in a supposed MAGA area. They also think, as I do, that the bulk of the lgbtq+ assholes running loose are WAY more dangerous and severely stupid compared to Trump supporters!!
Why would you even THINK that ANY Trump supporter was going to commit a hate crime against you? That's absolute BULLSHIT!!!
