There are a lot if archaic and obscure acts and laws that nobody had used for a generation (if not more). Congress never repealed thrm, because nobody assumed they'd ever be used again. Every time one has gone to court it's been ruled illegal. Trump can try, but it will go to SCOTUS, and he probably won't be able to use it once they rule on it. Most justices, even those appointed by Trump are at least adhering to the law. Clarence Thomas isn't, but he's old and will either die or retire soon.

We have way too many insurance companies here as it is and there were no buildings that were torched. You don't live here but you have again appointed yourself as an expert on what is going on in California. Mainly to service your own political fantasies. Stop it!!

Many houses burned, but that was not the result of deliberate arson as you previously implied.

no I know that but the homes still burned and many of these people had their insurance cancelled.

That is true, but this was mainly the fault of electricity providers who didn't maintain their equipment properly, and the fault of the wind. It had nothing to do with politics at all. Our firefighters are the best in the world, and they did everything possible to control these fires, which would have been a lot worse without their efforts.

I just watched a YouTube video of a German actor/reporter living in LA. That few bits of violence that occurred all happened in the small district of Downtown LA. Seven cars torched (five Waymo, two private), several stores got their windows smashed in and a few trashcans were set on fire. All in all, and these were his words, for a huge city this was basically harmless. The news pictures on TV were mostly tweaked for excessive drama and clickbait.
