I swear you can't make this stuff up.. I respect the lgbt community as long as they aren't harming anyone and as long as its kept away from children. But some in that community think we need to accept Pedophiles too.. Hell no.

I have questions, first where is this post from because I can only find it when it is talked about that the post itself and the account got deleted? I also can't find a Tuula graham in a proffessor position. Maybe you can link her university profile? That should exist as a proffessor.
Second what is map-m? I know map, nomap but not map-m except when talking about highschool scoring systems. 🤔
Third pedophobia is an existing word that doesn't mean hate towards pedophiles, but hate fear towards children.
Next pedophiles have tried to invade lgbtq spaces since its inception and they have allways been denied. There are two parties trying to link lgbtq and pedophiles, these are trans- and homophobes and. Pedophiles itself. Lgbtq has allways been against pedophilia.

All of this together I see two options, its a fake or troll post that has been done to attack lgbtq.
Otherwise its a real pedophile trying to invade lgbtq spaces and failing to do so, which is good that it failed.

I can't answer the first one, beyond the fact that it came across my feed and she's been talked about on reddit, and as far as map-m, i haven't got a clue. And i agree, every single person i know in the lgbt community hates pedo's

Strictly speaking if it was a phobia I see the point made. If we are afraid to tackle the issue without bias we can not overcome it. In that sense a fear of how sexual attraction works, which involves any form of it, does hold us back.

However. In reality people are not afraid of a pedophile's feelings but rather the risk they pose to children. Which means it is not really a phobia.

She later uses the term MAPs (Minor Attracted People) which there was a push to relabel pedophiles as. This was in conjunction with pedophiles wanting to join the LGBT. Point is, that's kind of as political and agenda pushing as you get.

Ultimately no. I do agree we need to stop being afraid of the topic so we can actually do some more serious research on how it happens and how we can treat it.

As a little tidbit there once was research on how to "cure" homosexuality. And, while calling it a cure is a bit insulting it worked a fair amount of the time. The gist was to inject a hormonal cocktail which would shift the focus of attraction. I assume this is similar to how trans people sometimes experience a shift in what and who they find attractive post HRT.

As for homophobia I don't see it as a problem. Some people don't like gays and that's just their opinion. It's not a societal problem.
