In a way. Someone could make a living and support their whole family with basically any job. Better prices for items (as a firearms enjoyer I hear stories from my Grandpa and I get a bit jealous lol). I will never say easier because each generation has its own challenges, and there have been a lot of strides made since those days. I think it's fair to say there is something each generation can envy a bit in the others, no?

Okay 👍🏼😎 - 23 d
Do you envy anything about other generations?
- 23 d
No they factually got everything easy. A postman could buy a home with a simple wage without proper education, actual attempt to better himself in their day.

Yup. Took advantage of all the good shit, and they get to check out in time to avoid the likely disastrous future ahead of us.
I can’t believe I have to see the next 40 years, barring anything untimely. We are on an absolutely disastrous trajectory.
18 Reply- 21 d
We've already made it through the disastrous part! Most likely, it'll be smooth sailing from here on out, lest the dummycrats do some awful shit to make things worse, again like they did the past 4 years!!

@exitseven That's in 50 years.

@FunkyMonkee I plan on being there.

No. I still recall being 14 and this guy Pete who was then 44 says to me, “I worry about when your generation takes over.” I responded with, “You should be more worried about when your own generation takes over. I sure the hell am.” Apparently that though never occurred to him but it was the first time I ever saw the guy have an “oh fuck” moment. He even turned to the other boomers exclaiming, “he isn’t wrong!” Beginning with Clinton, the Whitehouse has been nothing but a shit flinging monkey circus ever since along with Congress. No, I do not even slightly envy the Baby Boomer Generation. The generation was given everything by the previous generation (s) who sacrificed for better to be had by the successive generations to follow. Baby Boomers being largely a hoard it all for themselves generation and leave the bill for future generations has done just that … leave nothing for future generations but a deficit shit show for all others who follow … and the trend seems to continue.
That the “Greatest Generation” birthed a generation of drug addled peace and love hippies who protested one war but rallies behind other wars because it now serves their stock investment interest - but I digress - felt deserving of everything then took everything for themselves leaving scraps for generations to follow … well, I get why Gen Y and Gen Z feel fucked and why they think socialism, communism , or anarchy is a brilliant option - as misguided as they are in this belief - I nonetheless get it. I get why my generation, the smallest of all generations, essentially tapped out. No, this isn’t envy that successive generations feel. It is something else.10 Reply 875 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. Honestly sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I was born later. Because now in schools here they're so much more advanced than before. They teach a lot of skills on the side even in gym class. How to cooperate effectively with others etc. I think I would have learned a lot more or I would have gotten help earlier. BUT I don't really think about it. I'm sure this generation has a lot of challenges that I don't know about or understand so I don't envy anybody. I'm happy about my journey and now I'm just taking the next step. Today I had an info event for an education I'm gonna do in accounting. I'm excited now that I've learned more :)

Well they had it all good and they are the most selfish humans they took the letter along with them living Gen X and Millennials with nothing. I was left with my grandparents after school pick up, After football practice grandma was waiting for me. On weekends and summer Christmas 🎄 breaks I was at grandparents. Now I am a dad and my mom does not want to help out watch my daughter not even for 15 min. Yes Boomers are selfish my friends parents missed their wedding because going to Cancun was more important then their adult sons wedding. Different times we live in today's society.
10 Reply 21.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, they were there for Woodstock, the moon landing , the Vietnam war. They witnessed the first heart transplant, the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, The assassination of John F. Kennedy and the British Invasion. They drove muscle cars, rode skateboards, and questioned authority. They also walked to school, learned math and English, played with the kids down the street, and learned what would get them killed.
20 Reply2.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Only the opportunities they had. Like affordable housing or being able to find a good paying job right out of high school with no college. As far as living standards, health care advancements or technology then no. Would be cool to experience for like a week but no.
10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. You boomers may have gotten paddled more and had less technology. At the same time your parents and teachers didn't keep watch on you all the time like ours did, and a higher degree went a lot further back then than it does today. These days we have people with PhD's waiting tables.
20 ReplyBecause they were probably able to buy homes.

The average house price in Australia is approaching $1million (which in USD I guess is about $700,000). The average full-time wage is less than $100,000. So then you net off living expenses, school fees, occasional travel etc means that young people can easily spend a decade, even in good jobs, to save a 20% deposit... and even if they can, they still need to find a way to pay back the other 80% ... mortgages here are 35 years by default.
So yes boomers had lower incomes on average, but many are quite wealthy now due to house price inflation. - 22 d
Where the heck in SoCal was that in the 1970’s? In a rural town in SoCal with great credit in the early 70’s my parents were still paying $327 a month on a 30 year fixed. Then in the 80’s seeing homes double, triple and sometimes quadruple in a single decade. Mind boggling…

Nah. Those boomers had to climb mountains, barefoot, uphill both ways with bag full of bricks just to go to school.

Humanity was exhausted with WW2, there was plenty of resources, economics and demography has growth potential. time between 1950-2000 was probably and apogee human development. Now there will be just war and fight for resources.

OMG! I wanted to go to Woodstock so bad!
Santana played at Woodstock and I have had a crush on Mike Shrieve, the drummer, since they played in concert at the Fillmore West in San Francisco when I was 15.
In fact, during that concert I was right up against the stage and couldn't move and the crowd was pushing me into the stage and I was crying. Mike Shrieve got up from his 🥁 drum set during the concert and walked across the stage over to me and bent down and asked if I was okay and gave me his glass (big paper cup) of Coke and made me feel better. That was so cool. 😎
Sometimes to this day I watch him 4 minute drum solo from Woodstock. He's a bad ass on those drums. Man! - 21 d
I'm pretty sure he was 15 then, too.
I've got the entire Woodstock concert, now. Even more than what was on that 38 CD boxed set a few years ago that was SUPPOSED to be the whole concert!! - 21 d
@FunkyMonkee
I believe he was 19 at Woodstock. I read his biography and how he was living in San Francisco with his parents when he met Carlos and he was asked if he would be their drummer and he said yes of course. Went home and packed up a suitcase and said bye to his mom and dad and off he went.
And Woodstock was his first gig with the band. He had just turned 19.
That's what I read, but I wouldn't stake my life on it.
I think I saw the movie Woodstock - did you? - 21 d
@FunkyMonkee
I Googled it and they say 15-20 so I don't know. They also said that he dropped mescaline right before the concert started and Carlos was on acid.
My sister lived next door to Carlos Santana in San Francisco just before he became famous. He borrowed $15 from her but never paid her back.🙂 - 21 d
Every time I hear the story he's a different age!! First, i was told he was 16. Then it was 17. Now, you're saying 18. Now, having just looked it up, I find he was 20!! His b-day is next Sunday, he'll be 76.
- 21 d
Yes, I've got the 4-hour version. I've seen the shorter versions a number of times.
Yes, Carlos was tripping so bad he thought his guitar was a huge snake and he was trying to keep it from biting him. - 21 d
FunnyMonkee - ever hear this song by Mountain? Yazgurs Farm is the grounds where Woodstock was held.

They did that song AT Woodstock. Seems to me it had a different name, then.

The post war world was founded mostly by people who were born in 1850 to 1880's, and it is sucked dry and turned into ruin by these idiot boomers who had everything easy, and fucked the system for the rest of us
