Do you understand that Medicaid is what keeps rural hospitals open?

What needs to be done, is the government passing a law allowing hospitals to sign people up that are eligible for Medicaid. One third of our patients are eligible for Medicaid but don't sign up for it, which costs a ton of money for everyone! They use an ER as a primary care clinic. On a daily basis, there are people with COPD exasperation coming in, that need to be admitted, that are actually eligible for Medicaid but don't sign up, so they don't get nebulizer machines and medication, because it's too expensive. Cardiac patients that literally die in our ER because they for some reason, won't sign up! They can't afford their medications, they have no preemptive healthcare, even though, our hospital will give them the paperwork to get it! I'm not saying that it will solve the solvency of Medicaid but it will definitely put a small dent in it. People also need to step up and be responsible for their health. As a healthcare worker, it irritates me. People shouldn't have to be uninsured but it's made difficult for some. Thank you for putting up with my rant! 👍
You're trying to preach to Americans. They don't notice or react until it's far too late.
Oh on Mitch "" They certainly will. 🪦
A lot of the people that voted Trump and understand are the same people that will tell you that they didn't think they would actually DO it, and certainly not to ME. They think being a trumpty dumpty grants them some sort of magic shield... "I only wanted him to hurt the people I don't like"
Being in Tx. I've tried ro educate, have coversations with these people for over a decade now, and still they'll try to explain what he really meant immediately after he's spoken like some sort of Trump whisperer
I made sound cruel, but in a cosmically karmic way, everyone who voted for Trump thinking his hatred or backward ass policies would never affect them, deserves to have it affect them in a big way! Why in a big way --- because their singular act of stupidity affects 4.5 other people in this country who do NOT deserve it in ANY way!
@loveslongnails I agree, not to mention the fact that they WANTED the cruelty for people they didn't like, want to see them punished for not being "just like them". They are weaponizing their ureasonable hate and destroying real people.
Yes, I do. Evidently rural voters don't, or they wouldn't have voted for Trump. It's amazing how Trump fanned their bigotry and got them to vote against their own interests. Almost none of them understand that all the programs they depend on are subsidized by the urban areas. Money flows from California and New York and Washington to Alabama and Arkansas and Mississippi and West Virginia. People are going to die, and it's not going to be the "libs". We have professional jobs and health insurance.

3) Kentucky's rankings of #32 in education, #46 in health care, #44 in economic opportunity, #45 in fiscal stability and #39 in overall livability. The only categories it breaks into the top 25 are #23 infrastructure and #22 natural environment.
4) According to greasethewheels. org., Kentucky and NY are ranked as the states where government corruptions is most likely to occur - 4.5 pts out of 5.0
To answer your question as to whether these idiots in Congress understand that rural hospitals rely on Medicaid and to an extent Medicare for their budgets, yes they do. But since they are vile, evil, mf's --- they don't care. They simply do not give a fuck. They are white, privileged and racist, so to them, the more poor people of any color dying is seen as a financial benefit and lessening of a burden to the state.
They only know destruction. Creativity & solutions are beyond their ken.
Yes, what's your point? Medicaid for citizens will not be cut.
It is Trump's bill. No rural hospitals will close unless they are illegal alien hospitals. This is panic porn from the democrats. They are upset because the bill also contains legislation that gives the president authority to defund these low level judges that are stopping the deportations.
It doesn't matter if Americans suffer, as long as brown people suffer more, right?
"With more than 300 rural hospitals identified as being at "immediate risk" of shutting down, reductions in Medicaid funding threaten to upend health care delivery in some of the nation's most vulnerable communities, according to the pro-Democratic organization Center for American Progress.
Why It Matters
More than 60 million Americans live in rural areas, according to the 2020 census, where hospitals serve as essential lifelines, not just for emergency and primary care, but also for obstetrics, mental health services and long-term treatment. Medicaid provides critical financial support for these institutions, often serving as the backbone of care in areas with thin profit margins and high rates of public insurance enrollment.
Nearly one-third of the nation's rural hospitals are already in danger of closing due to sustained financial losses and low cash reserves, according to the Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform, meaning Medicaid cuts would likely see these facilities shut down."

For the last ten years we have been fed a steady diet of lies from the fake news. Trump is a Russian agent, the laptop is Russian disinformation, Trump took a 400 million dollar bribe from Quatar, Trump called veterans suckers and losers, and on and on and on. Now they expect us to believe that the Iranians will still be able to build a bomb. Maybe just a few weeks later.
Does anyone but you believe this stuff?
Yes, of course I understand it.
Many don't seem to. Estimates say that some 300 hospitals will close because of Republican cuts to Medicaid. Many are already in danger.

@AyChingao That's a whole other nightmare. Medicaid fraud comes from the corporations, not the people. By all means, they should go after people like Rick Scott and get the stolen billions back.

The entire healthcare system is nothing but corruption on top of corruption. Many industries are. NONE of that will change if we can't find a way to undo the terrible "Citizens United" SCOTUS decision that corporations are the same as a person and money= free speech, everythiing political is for sale by the decision... pure legalized bribery
