Why do mall security like to harass people when they are not doing anything?

The mall closed and I was sitting on the bench waiting for my dad to come out of the bathroom. So a security guard came up to be asking me a bunch of questions who am I waiting for and where were they at? So I got tired of having to answer questions so I walked off and left.

Because you could be a suicide bomber, ICE, stalker, or a thief, for all they knew.

If they beat you to the ground and called the cops, that would be a story. But just a bunch of question is reasonable, and you're being insecure over it.

If I answer their question they need to take my word on it instead of asking more questions if I knew where they where I would be where they were at. Security guard assume that you’re up to no good all the time.

A lot of the mall cops are guys that could not be real cops and they just like to push people around.
