Well at least it made the news, if this was that common an occurrence it wouldn't have. I have heard that in Australia if someone gets murdered the media will report on it for days, namely because murder is very uncommon there. In the US if someone gets murdered unless it is someone famous, or it is the police killing an unarmed black guy, or the murderer appears to be tied to a cult, then the media won't really consider it a big deal.

I don't know why people don't bring these issues of caste system within hinduism up so much, it is a really backward thinking and has caused a lot of problems
