That seems to be what it is worth in Brazil. A transwoman Erika Hilton won an election by a wide margin and was billed by media as Brazil's most voted for woman.

A feminist Isabella Cepa (an XX by birth) made the snarky comment that it was a pity the most voted for woman couldn't be a woman rather than a man. Erika filed charges and Brazil's supreme court found it fell under racism laws as social racism With other snarly comments Isabell has made it could total 25 years. Fortunately the EU has given refugee status to her but for security reasons the country she is in isn't being disclosed.

Trump is also in trouble with Erika because Erika was issued a US visa with the gender of male.

Isabella deserves every year for misgendering. She asked for it.

Your vote doesn't encourage much nuance.

This woman does not deserve to be condemned for her comments. We are falling into the madness of LGBTQ militancy.


But the biological reality of transgender people is more complex than it seems.

So, no, a trans woman is not the same as a cis woman. But she is probably not biologically identical to a cis male either. While the scientific discoveries continue to evolve (particularly in identifying the key genes), it has been firmly, medically established that transgenderism does indeed have an observable, biological basis. So it would be nice if more of the conservatives (and some liberals) who pride themselves on “standing up for truth and basic gender science” actually bothered to read and understand the scientific research.

No not much nuance because it was funnier without. And the real world question is does misgendering deserve a higher degree of punishment than murderers might get in Brazil? Which I think is a Yes or No Q.

There are certainly more combinations than XX and XY possible but they are generally regarded as genetic abnormalities. What is currently labeled as gender is more sexuality in reality.

Quite simply some females are more girly than others and some are more butch. Some men are more macho than other men. Some of the butch women might be more macho than some men. But that doesn't justify attempting to redefine the word gender. which from 1400 until just recently strictly meant the division of people into male and female.

As for Science research it is formulating a hypothesis and testing it against reality. The hypotheses can be sheer bloody wrong to all buggery and back but results nonetheless interpreted to supporting it.

For example there have been various theories on female sexuality and response that were accepted for many years but it is becoming evident they have been sheer bloody wrong to buggery all along.

I am happy to read papers though if you have some seminal ones to suggest. I want someone to do the pointing for me, for me to delve in.

Isabella had a lot of misandrist comments on transwomen in her social media aside from the comment on Erika Hilton. Is it misogyny or misandry with transwomen? Confusing.

Their Supreme Court decided in 2019 it was social racism. Don't know if there has been any test of it. Anyway the racism legislation provides up to 5 years jail which would still be a steep punishment for misgendering.

I am just guessing but if there were 5 denigrating comments by Isabella she probably thought 5x5 is 25 and I might not get 5 concurrent sentences so it 25 years in the clink for me if I don't leave pronto.

Erika Hilton is a powerful politician and could possibly ensure a suitable sentence. At least that is what Isabella thought.

She went to Salvador first and they thought she had a case and told the plane to Spain not to take off before she was on board.

That's all coming from reported statements by Isabella of course. There could be more to it then her fears as you say.

Erika is going to the UN over being misgendered on the US visa so s/he would probably ram home the full force of the law as s/he can most likely. It doesn't have to be more complicated than that.
