No that's a foolish perspective, greed existed way before money did and it was already a major trait we have. And money is just a way we express today.
If society collapses, banks and money as we know it lost all value do you think there wouldn't be people everywhere powered by greed to gather whatever is the next valuable thing?

The number 1 cause of greed is humans, it's a natural trait we have. To blame anything else is delusion.
Do note this is not me saying there aren't ways we could and can control that, that's another topic.

Humans, by their nature are greedy and selfish. Money is just one of the yardsticks to measure success.

Ah the one thing Marx does make a bad point about sadly.
He's right when speaking on the context under capitalism how money is used to detract and abstract values so those can profit from others easier.
He's wrong however when acting like greed is not a inherent trait, and was formed by class when it certainly is and it's why capitalism even came to be Class defines things but it wasn't the cause. Though luckily again Marx did not see money as inherently evil which is right.
So he'd probably understand my point if I made it to him, need a time machine so I could ask him lol

No. But money is causation of it. I think the #1 reason is people feel unloved. Now let's not get it twisted. I'm not saying most of these people need love. Most of them simply do not have the social skills or compassion to care deeply about another human being. So most of them go through life sucking attention from one person after the next. Not realizing, they're thier own problem.
