I’d say the number one complaint I have about my fellow Americans in 2025 is that we’re incredibly stupid, whether it’s by genetics, willful ignorance, or a combination of both.
I meet SO FEW intelligent people. Everyone is middle-of-the-road or outright dumb. It legitimately gives me a headache dealing with this incessant stupidity, and I’m not even some genius.
And it’s just Dunning-Kruger effects like crazy, they think they know it all. Like one of the reasons I know I’m smart is because I know what I DON’T know. The overconfidence of the underinformed is mind-blowing. Like people legitimately believe they know more than professionals, because they watched a YouTube video. It’s unbelievable.
Anyway, I was thinking about the movie Idiocracy from almost 20 years ago. It’s frightening to see where we are now vs what the movie predicted. It only took a generation, not 500 years, lmfao.
Anyway…. it makes me wonder if democracy is still a great idea, given the amount of Clevon/Clevon Jr types in this country. I am WAY too smart and make too much of an effort to stay informed to have their vote equally weighted as mine, holy fuck🤦♂️🤣
