I’d say the number one complaint I have about my fellow Americans in 2025 is that we’re incredibly stupid, whether it’s by genetics, willful ignorance, or a combination of both.

I meet SO FEW intelligent people. Everyone is middle-of-the-road or outright dumb. It legitimately gives me a headache dealing with this incessant stupidity, and I’m not even some genius.

And it’s just Dunning-Kruger effects like crazy, they think they know it all. Like one of the reasons I know I’m smart is because I know what I DON’T know. The overconfidence of the underinformed is mind-blowing. Like people legitimately believe they know more than professionals, because they watched a YouTube video. It’s unbelievable.

Anyway, I was thinking about the movie Idiocracy from almost 20 years ago. It’s frightening to see where we are now vs what the movie predicted. It only took a generation, not 500 years, lmfao.

Anyway…. it makes me wonder if democracy is still a great idea, given the amount of Clevon/Clevon Jr types in this country. I am WAY too smart and make too much of an effort to stay informed to have their vote equally weighted as mine, holy fuck🤦‍♂️🤣

You have managed to recognize a fundamental truth of humanity. It doesn't get any better. There has always been something like like a top, middle, bottom, 10%/40%/50%. As technology becomes more sophisticated more and more people slide down into the bottom tier of barely functional boat anchors around the neck of society.

Is it fair their votes count? Is it good for society? No! But if our technology has been on an asymptotic growth trajectory over time, our social progress has been a flat line for 5,000 years. Now it seem to be trending downward.

As George Carlin once said, "think about the average person, half the population is dumber than that."

Accept it. The morons will always outnumber the smart people. Our progress will always be slow and our survival is not guaranteed. Clevon just may be the genius!

Science and academia are not what they used to be. Not by a long shot. Just because a “professional” makes a statement, that doesn’t necessarily make it true or accurate. Chances are you decide what is right and what is wrong just like the people you think you’re smarter than. I’d have to look into those books. I would just say that I find white grievance, hetero grievance, and to a slightly lesser extent, male grievance, to be absolutely laughable. If you’re the dominant demographic, you have no grievances. STFU and GTFO, please and thanks. America is being held back by these groups who are petrified that they might lose their built-in status in the social hierarchy. That’s not a legitimate or noble cause.

I’m not going to spend the time, but I could blow everyone’s mind apart with my view of humanity and our place on Earth. I have yet to get anyone to agree, I think because humans are unable to operate outside of this incorrect idea that “But…. humans are #1 and the reason Earth exists. We can’t do anything that would result in us being not #1!” Believe me, I didn’t get that one from the picture box.

I don’t understand why you think moral decency and universal care for your fellow human is a result of some kind of indoctrination.

Some people are smart. Most are not. Some of that is out of our control. Some of that is willful ignorance, self-delusion, etc.

But all jobs have value. Someone has to lay the bricks and hang the drywall. Someone has to mop up, someone has to run the company, someone has to push buttons on a keyboard, someone has to stamp and sign documents. It’s all fair.

I just fear that some people are easily manipulated. The guy in the suit is only going to care about you until you pull the lever for them. Then you’re of no consequence to them.

Lower IQ people tend to have lower paying jobs. The politicians lower IQ people seem to often vote for, rarely do anything to really help them. It’s always “coming soon”, or they’ll switch gears and point at some brown person and tell you that’s why you’re poor. Not the people who pay you too little at your job, or charge you too much at the store. Some guy picking strawberries, some lady cleaning up after a hooker and a John in a motel room. THAT’S the enemy🙄🤦‍♂️

Honestly, we don’t know how smart people are in a certain place or country, such as in the US, unless we test every person’s IQ and collect the data. Most people don’t know their IQ, and I’m assuming that.
I agree with you that, based on what I have seen and people I’ve met, there are few intelligent individuals around me. I am also aware of that famous Socrates quote: the only thing is that I know nothing. Or something like that in those words. And it’s true. The more you research on something, the more you see how little you know and how much more there is to learn.

If you ever actually bother to look into the history of the IQ test you’d know it wasn’t made by “scientists” but a pair of early 20th century french psychologists who specifically wanted to use it on children to determine if they could handle regular education. The pseudo-psychology of their test came to mimic that of the Meyers-Briggs personality testing, which I’m sure I don’t need to remind you was made by two bored housewives who had zero psychological background but because it got popular, people think it’s legit.

Binet & Simon were scientists commissioned by the government. How much of a "psychologist," do they need to be as psychology was a new study back then & psychologists learn their information from early 20th century sources & have adapted to it. Psychology is one of the most poorly understood topics in science so I don't think a "trust the science" argument is legitimate here, especially when it's been proven science can be ideologically captured (by leftists like Francesca Gino & coward geneticist David Reich who said "I would be too scared of certain results" (due to controversies around face).
The IQ test was designed to identify who needed more help at school, not the individuals intelligence level explicitly. However the questions in the test are basic pattern recognition. Testing an individuals intelligence like it's a genetic test is inaccurate because people's minds change every day.
However, it's very good at measuring an average intelligence amongst a high population because it's just simple pattern recognition questions & the only other way to test is intelligence is an older method called Phrenology, which is to measure skull sizes & how many neurons are in the head too (you won't what those answers give either).

I hate this time period where people won't analyse the worth of what somebody does or achieves just because they lack some piece of paper handed to them by a useless university that taught them NOTHING.
Universities are a scam & cut the value of experience, skill & analysis out when hiring.
People in the early 20th century didn't have to be qualified to have an internationally respected opinion. Many people who had no qualifications worked in very intense, niche fields because they worked their way there & had the skills.
You don't need some scary academic institution to become skilled at something. Infact it usually distracts you & wastes your time from both my experience & the people around me.

I know loads of Carols, even "dated" one for a short while! I've only ever known 2 Trevors, personally; one was a dog (a crockapoo), the other only CALLED HIMSELF, Trevor.
