Washington DC and New Orleans were never meant to be metropolises. DC was just meant to be a neutral place for politicians to conduct business. New Orleans was just meant to be the largest seaport in America and the third largest in the world. Of course you're going to need some support businesses for both places; like Taco Bell, strip clubs, and Bikini Baristas selling coffee. But in DC the crime is rampant, and many of the people in New Orleans are living below sea level. Even Gophers won't live below sea level. That's a recipe for disaster.

Pros: you have metro and uber at your disposal, lots of restaurants, museums, nightlife, beautiful bike trails
