Always remember that “general public opinion” is settled on by people who I mostly wouldn’t trust to be able to run a lemonade stand.

Other than scientific facts and the like, “what most people think” is more likely than not incorrect in it’s reasoning.

Never take public opinion all that seriously. Most people are stupid, and most stupid people don’t seem to even know they’re stupid. If I didn’t have test scores and the opinions of educators over the course of my life to back me up, I wouldn’t even claim myself to be smart, haha. I don’t even claim to be as smart as the tests would suggest. I’m just saying that I feel like stupid people think they’re smart based on NOTHING. There’s the difference.

So, as much as I hate to admit it, I think there are just that many, or close to it, of people who are dumb enough to fall for Trump, bigoted enough to vote against their own economic self-interests, or the much smaller percentage of Trump supporters who smart but are greedy and/or bigoted. But any smart person I know who I also think has a decent soul has never voted for Trump. And all of the dumbest people I know, almost to a man, are into Trump.

These numbers about line up with what I encounter in everyday life, sadly🤦‍♂️
