Do you believe that President Trump will ever get Putin to pull back from Ukraine, and end that war, WITH OUT some violent action from the U. S?

I have to say that Putin is a real SOB that will lie at every turn, and try to BS the rest of the planet regarding his intent to restore the USSR as it was back in the day, and so way of deterring him without some violence from the U. S. AND other NATO nations. Sanctions, be damned.

What is your feeling?

I said my opinions on this, though I will say one that isn’t quite relevant.

I said that Afghan War was always a lost cause for America and the world because Obama and The Trump Administration would pull back troops then the Taliban would rush in taking land and American weaponry. The Afghan people made it clear, they didn’t believe in the cause therefore they didn’t believe in fighting for it.
American troops would be forced to fight for the Afghan people’s interest when their own soldiers trained by The Americans didn’t want to fight back.
That was always a lose lose situation, that is why I believed and still do it was a lost cause and a stupid pointless conflict just to build Democracy.
Obama failed in having us stay there after Osama Bin Laden was assassinated and Trump failed at bringing our troops home (though admittedly was caused by George Bush Jr. Administration for Pointless Middle Eastern Conflicts)

Now compare that to Ukrainian People who have the odds against them and the mainstream media claimed Kviv would fall however they are still fighting strong to this day. They took back more land than what was taken since the war began.
They have the ability to win this war as long as they have the weaponry and resources.
They don’t need boots on the ground and never did because these Ukrainian Troops believe in the fight against Russian Aggression.

What does this mean? I believe it will be prolonging this conflict to not support Ukraine and it would be damn right appeasement to allow Putin to claim that territory. He knows once he gets that land, he’ll invade inland and take some more just like Hitler WWII invading Poland. This is the time to be standing with our allies, not poking them in the eyes. I remember The Marshall Plan and our history of commitment towards Europe which strengthened us on the world stage, not isolate us.

We need to support Ukraine, we have an obligation.

No. Russia ain't giving back any territory and it will never allow NATO into Ukraine. Russia now owns eastern Ukraine, Crimea, and will probably wind up owning Odessa and the entire Ukrainian coast.
The U. S. is powerless to do anything about it. And if the Ukrainian Nazis continue their aggression, Russia will punish them. Zelinsky and the Nazis fucked up and threw Ukraine and its people under a bus. Those war criminals should be rounded up and put on trial or given the Mussolini treatment.

I think Ukraine is doing quite a good job on refineries, railway electricity transformers and oil pumping stations as it is. Seems somebody is using soviet era limpet mines on the shadow fleet.

Russia has always weaponized it's vastness. Ukraine is playing a reverse card by disabling it's railway network so goods can't be transported. Blowing up the railway transformers and pumping stations and removing refining of petrol and diesel hits Russia pretty hard

Jeez I wouldn't like to be a Russian soldier with the way Ukraine hunts them down with drones. They seem to have killed 5,000 of them in August with drones. Russian soldiers try to hide but they can be seen by drones and... KABOOM.

NATO or a few NATO members isn’t/aren‘t going to physically expel Russia from Ukraine. Here’s why - even if you could get a consensus to attack (and NATO is purely a defensive alliance which hasn’t prepared for an offensive war in Ukraine), Putin isn’t just going to let himself get expelled from Ukraine- he’d destroy the world with nukes first).

My father, who majored in Russian and Russian Studies as an undergrad in the 1960s, told me he’d have the parts of Ukraine not controlled by Russia annexed by Poland.

Certainly not by inviting and ass-kissing Putin. With a maximum delivery of long range weapons and defense systems to Ukraine there is a relatively high chance. That’s the only language a savage on the warpath like Putin understands.

We know what Putin wants, now that he probably won't succeed in conquering Ukraine. He wants part of Ukraine which is what Zelinskyy refuses.

Let's say we had a similar issue with Mexico. To stop the war they wqnt Texas. Should we accept that? Give up all the production and citizens in Texas because Mexico wants it before ending a war that they started?

Many ignorant people here don't know the history, Crimean peninsula was originally Russian, not Ukrainian, both ethnically, and historically.
It was given to Ukraine by the communist dictator Nikita Khrushchev in 1954.
