Should politicians be permitted to put their names on bills they opposed? Both sides do it & it's BS IMHO? Should it be allowed at all?

Signs have popped up in front of major infrastructure projects financed by the Biden legislation, a $1.2 trillion package that Mr. Trump whom had passionately railed against. He called the bill “a loser for the U. S. A.,” and warned that Republican lawmakers who signed on could be thrown out of office by angry primary voters.

The signs note, in a smaller font, that the projects in question are “funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” the official name of the legislation that Mr. Trump tried to derail.

In June 2024, Senator Ted Cruz complained about the Biden emblazened signs to the Office of Special Counsel, arguing that they amounted to campaign signs for Mr. Biden, and thus violated the Hatch Act, which limits federal employees’ political activities.

“These displays are nothing more than campaign yard signs courtesy of the American taxpayer,” Mr. Cruz wrote at the time. The special counsel’s office investigated the matter, disagreed with Mr. Cruz and closed the case.

This week, Mr. Cruz’s office did not respond to an email asking whether the Trump signs might also violate the Hatch Act.

I have seen signs like these ones pop up during The Biden Administration since he championed those legislative goals in mind ,

We can make an argument / have a debate on whether or not politicians should place their names on any form of policy however in this case for Donald J Trump ,

I would argue that a political leader let alone current President putting their name on something that A) Didn’t happen during their time of office , B) Not something they subscribed to , C) Saw as a negative for the country , and D) Tried to sabotage and failed as disingenuous and misleading.

If you like something, stick to your guns. If you think there was a misstep in policy, course correct. Though by just putting your name on something another politician did , that is pretty douchey.

This isn’t because of a change of heart, it is because he wanted to be the one with the most cake.

He is upset that Biden did his thing and afraid it makes him look weak , small , and insignificant which he brought upon himself being so self centered and not strong enough to achieve it for the people. Trump only wants to do things and take credit when it suits him to do so. Why else is he quick to ban the life saving vaccines that are ‘good’ and ‘safe’ that he himself created during The Pandemic? Opportunistic.

Politicians put their names everywhere... advertising.

When you enter a state on the Interstate, there is always a sign saying "Welcome to State, name Governor" that has to be changed every few years, at taxpayers expense, after the election. I never liked that.

Seeing how you meant it, wtf this is so stupid that its allowed. This is why every country needs more transparency when it comes to politicians. I know you can look it up in theory but this is probably getting more views than the side that shows how he voted.
