Just kind of a thought that passed through my mind, but…

Alright, so let’s leave our opinions of who Charlie Kirk was at the door. I’ve discussed it ad nauseum the last 24 hours, you can find my thoughts elsewhere.

And he’s the unfortunate example I’m using, I’m not trying to use his death for gun control talk. Gun ATTITUDES will be discussed, but I’m not talking about anything pertaining to the laws of gun ownership. Morality issue, not 2A related

This is where it gets graphic, so bail if you don’t want to hear it.

Ok, here goes…

Let’s leave the name out of it, but I watched a man die on Wednesday. Up close, perfect vantage point, modern phone quality video. I saw a battlefield injury in HD.

I’ll just describe it, prob shouldn’t link it: He jerked suddenly and a hole opened in his neck. His arms seized up and froze, it probably severed his spinal cord. There was a pause, and in the rhythm of a pulse, a cartoonish amount of blood spurted from the wound like a fountain, had to have been a pint in just a couple of seconds. He keeled over, as good as dead. I knew he wouldn’t survive. Just no way.

It was maybe the most gruesome thing I’ve ever seen. And I can take that sort of thing, at least on video; I luckily haven’t witnessed it live. I wasn’t physically sick, but heartsick. And (I guess I lied) I was not a member of his fan club.

So…it’s haunting, but I feel like people need to see it, especially gun people. Look what ONE bullet did to a human. That description above is hard to recount and type out, but it’s necessary to graphically depict it.

Why, for almost any reason, do we want to do that to each other? Pie in the sky, I guess, but what are we doing? Maybe SEEING what it looks like to take a life (or get yours taken), not the idea of it would help. What I saw, I’d never want to do to anyone, even in self-defense

Not sure what the question is... are you just not used to seeing that sort of thing. I fuck around on 4chan so I've seen much worse and pretty regularly. The world is a horrible place. Latest I watched was a young girl biting chunks out of her own arm and eating it. I think her captors cooked her arm (elbow down), and was forcing her to eat her arm. That's the shit I watch on the regular, so yeah... Charlie getting shot in the neck or that Ukrainian refugee getting stabbed in the throat is something I've watched at many different angles already. I think the little girl sticks in my mind more... except that video where those dudes where pinning another dude down and they had a pitbull eating his junk... you know the junk. That dog already ate the dick and balls and was just getting some and the look on the dude's face. It sticks out in my mind how horrible it is. I guess various torture videos these cartels like to make of them torturing victims and killing them sticks out as well. That one guy where they cut his face off and then was wearing it on their face and dancing in front of him... what a way to go... watching dudes laugh at you while wearing your face and doing their little pookie dance. Pretty fucked up.

Back to your question, the part that's in bold so I can try to answer this... yeah I watched a bunch of the videos... I study this sort of stuff like it's a science. Different angles, close up, far away... all of it. The benefit? I guess for those that live in a sheltered cartoon land and want to celebrate such a thing when they don't see it... it sort of slaps reality into them and maybe they can imagine what it's like if it happened to them. Yeah... the man was shot for practicing free speech and then a bunch of retards celebrated that and used their free speech to do it... wonder if they'd celebrate their own death for using their own free speech? There is a reason the left got a whole bunch of #walkaway 's and people getting fired from their jobs after that for acting stupid online.

I'll put it another way... Hassan Piker says fucked up shit all the time. Nobody trying to shoot him though... that's the left's #1 king of content and he's a sick fuck. I would... way worse than Kirk was with views that I even disagree with, but on a different level. Nobody is going to shoot him though... the right just makes fun of him kinda like South Park was trying to do to Kirk... except the right thought that was funny. I think what watching such a thing as really done... is up the evil factor or acknowledgement of the evil on the left. At least amongst the normies. I've already seen them at their worst... the left world wide always do some pretty vile shit like forcing mother's to eat their own children. It is what it is.

I don't watch those things, because they become sort of embedded in your consciousness, at least for a short period, maybe like a mild form of PTSD or trauma. We ultimately have a choice which media we consume, if we consume dark media then it does impact and solidy in your consciousness. There is enough negativity out there, trying to keep us in lower frames, on a day to day basis. In fact, maybe that is the wider plan.

As for whether we're morally obliged to do so, to see the reality of the views we hold, perhaps.

But I can see beyond the politics of it. I mean, of course, I did have some political thoughts, 'typical leftist', not seeing the irony of murdering Kirk for being a 'fascist' and 'hateful'. Those on the left label themselves as innately compassionate. And apparently doing so, allows you to commit any kind of wicknedness with impunity.

But overall, I just see it as sad for humanity. Sad for his family. And I don't fathom how anyone could rationalise killing someone for their political views. Society seems to be descending rapidly. We don't officially have guns here in the UK. But we're becoming more dystopian and ever more violent.

By all accounts, the murder of the Ukrainian girl was far more brutal and graphic.

Incidentally, and going back to my first point. This is why I'm glad I live near to the English countryside. Because I can wash myself of the sickness of society. All the images that get forced into our minds to keep us in the lower levels.

I’ve watched it and laughed when people said a deer hunter could’ve made the shot because that shot was accurate, it hit the carotid and it was immediate lights out. Man felt nothing, one minute he’s there the next he’s gone.

I don’t know anything about the dude, I don’t necessarily feel bad for him but I do feel bad for his family; they didn’t deserve to witness that. His wife, and kids didn’t deserve to lose him. His parents didn’t deserve to lose their child. But witnessing it, it would’ve turned up probably on the dark web anyway and I think it’s good for people to witness the realities.


Where I live we don’t have guns. We do for hunting but we don’t have the second amendment here. A friend and I were going over gun violence though and the US has the most instances.

even though i really didn't like charlie, it was shocking seeing a gore vid of an influencer i knew about. it's pretty tame as far as gore goes (when i was an edgelord teen i saw far worse) but it's still quite disturbing.

i dont think there's much of a benefit to seeing the full violence in this kind of case if you live in a relatively safe country like the us. you most likely will never deal with gun violence yourself

There was actually a bit of a discussion about a related topic recently that I was a part of. More specifically, about how the American people has somewhat been shielded from the horrific graphic nature of death by guns. More specifically, Americas obsession with the m4 and by extension the ar15 and pistols has meant that deaths are not necessarily as graphic as they could have been.

Small caliber bullets or in the case of the ar15, small bullets traveling really fast, leave fairly "clean" kills. The bodies still looks like people for all intents and purposes. If, for the sake of argument; the army would move away from the m4 and adopt a different rifle that would do more damage, say the m7, and the population moves on with their fascination with the ar15 to SIG MCX Spear, then bodies will begin to stop looking like bodies and the public opinion of these weapons will probably begin to shift.

It is one thing to see a child die in a school shooting. Its something entirely different to see that same child turn into something.. not human.. for lack of better words. I dont think anyone, much less Americans, are prepared to see that.

Yes, I haven't seen the video, however, and with the caveat of the weapons being different I believe, the Kirk shooter used a bolt action long rifle? Recalling Uvalde here in Texas (AR-15) the nature of the wounds the modern high velocity rounds cause is absolutely astounding. The round hits a bone it rolls along it ripping flesh and doing damage all the while. Kids had to be indentified using DNA because their heads and faces were GONE. One mom saw her daughter's shoes and knew before it was confirmed. I feel people SHOULD look and see what it does. This society has become far too blase. There was a school shooting in Colorado same day Kirk was shot, and nobody even bothers to mention any sort of common sense gun legislation anymore because they know it's impossible right now. Shit needs to change.

I would have thought that all the photographic evidence from history, US Civil War right through to Vietnam would bolster civility just because of the horrific nature of these cruelties. You wonder though if some of these people are just wired differently, like even seeing it might not have an effect. Really sad.

I haven't seen it buti have seen the horrifying image of his lifeless body on stage. The description alone made me sick to my stomach and I know that doesn't compare to those who saw it live and especially the man's wife and kids.

I agree that it really doesn't matter how you feel about his arguments, he was a man who was willing to have a conversation and someone hated him for it so much that they took his olive branch and burned it. Even the guy who was there to debate him feels the same way.

All these killings and attempts within the past year appears to have set something in motion that we can't simply undo nor predict the direction it goes and its terrifying.

Yes. It's not just beneficial, it's essential. In an age of abstractions and political talking points, witnessing a real event like that is a jolt. It forces you to confront the reality that you are a physical being capable of being pierced and killed. It shatters the abstraction and wakes you up from the dream. I think I’m maybe trying to say that, with a gun specifically…well, my issue with guns in the first place is that the give too much ease to kill, and the method, especially as we see it depicted in TV/movies (other than intentionally cinematically-graphic efforts) growing up; I know for me it would’ve probably been seeing some trope of a Wild West duel, and you’d see someone stand “ten paces” away (or I guess 20 between the two guys), the gun goes bang, one guy falls, he makes a groan, and looks like he fell asleep. At most, it’s usually a bloody circle around a hole in someone’s shirt.

The amount of blood loss with Kirk, in the one second it took for him to keel over was NUTS. Not like on TV, not even like anything in Saving Private Ryan that I remember. Like if you told me blood came out like that, I wouldn’t have believed it. Holy shit, do I believe it now😱

i mean i still think it's "the will to see someone dead". it doesn't matter the tool they use. tho i would agree that a knife attack is somewhat "easier" to defend against than a well placed gun shot completely out of the blue. but then again, there recently was a case here in germany where even a police officer died to a knife attack even though he knew the offender had a knife and had already killed another person and he had a gun. so really if somene wants to see you dead, you gotta find out why. cause that's the cause. everything else is just symptoms or a chosen tool.

I just think there’s some distinction to be made between “will to kill” as an idea and an emotional feeling, and “will to kill” in terms of functionally doing it and experiencing it. A lot of people SAY or maybe even THINK they want to kill someone…. I just think in some circumstances, maybe related to how gruesome it is, the dream might not live up to the reality, and it will be scarring and disturbing, not casual or invigorating.

Shooting someone in the heart with a small caliber will look different than a shot through the head with guns/ammo with more stopping power, that exit wound will literally blow like a quarter of your head off, brains out, all that. Shit that would give you nightmares.

i think once the decision to kill someone falls, the "gruesomeness" of the act isn't a deterring factor anymore. it's just a question of convenience at that point. so the most convenient tool available wil be choosen. if the most convenient available is a gun, gun it is. if it's a knife, knife it is. like you know full well at that point, that your life is fucked, cause you're not gonna get away with murder and you're risking that being fully aware.

I'm no doctor, but from what you and others described, it sounds like it hit an artery. Apparantly, he was still able to speak moments before he died. The reality of what just happened didn't really register with me until today. You hear about assassinations on TV and history class, but actually experincing one in the present, it just feels unreal. It really only registered with me this afternoon that he's actually dead.
