Thoughts on the Charlie Kirk shooting?

I can't believe 40% say he got what he deserved... unreal.
It's terribly wrong and looks like we have likely candidate for first firing squad in a long time.
I do think though as Jesus said..."Do not put the lord thy God to the test"... should be considered when communicating. He himself said he thinks some of those he's talking to are mentally ill. There's no law against such people having guns and even if there was, they could still get them.
It's a dangerous thing... brave to engage into such world... but dangerous because many such people are not stable.
Why was there no serious protection for him? Maybe that was the idea of the tent? No frontal shield? I think that will be the reality for any such person now engaging in public.
We now have a case where society needs to say "no" to this behavior... but the vote isn't saying that. It's gonna get expensive to protect people and difficult to have such discorse discussions.
I think some people could lose their rights in the fallout... those on the fringes.
I’ve been broken hearted since hearing the news. It’s absolutely a travesty.
It’s intermingled with fits of anger because of the scumbags celebrating his death and lying about his character and his good deeds as a positive and meaningful moral leader. I’ve met maybe three really good Christians in my lifetime. Charlie Kirk reminded me of them almost every time i’ve watched him. There’s something almost surreal about good Christians when your experience with the rest is fairly disappointing. At the same time, i envy and admire them. They exude the gospel without speaking a word of it. I’m not even sure that i believe in the mystical aspects of the Bible. But when i imagine being a better person, it’s usually in comparison to someone who is devoted to being as Christ like as they humanly can. They strive to be like Christ. I will settle for being like Charlie Kirk. He may not have been perfect, but he was a damn sight better than me.
If God offered me the chance to trade my life for his, i’d do it. He was making the world a better place. I’ve had my moments but even if i exert myself in the same direction as Kirk until my dying day, i will never match his influence on people and the world around him. Kirk for me is an unfair trade for God, but he’s sposta to be pretty wise. If he made the offer, i wouldn’t even hesitate.
He deserved the karma. I feel bad for his wife and kids for having to witness it tho
That’s a contradictory statement lol. No surprise coming from you
🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah, no. That makes absolutely no sense
That’s like saying “ oh, I wish you and your family the best, even though I think you’re a lying, good for nothing piece of shit.” 🤦♂️🤣 come on Apple, do you listen to yourself when you talk? @Apple1996

I would like it to be a lesson for "Christian" nationalists to learn to stop trying to tie faith into politics, because the two have no business whatsoever being married to each other. But unfortunately they will never listen to that reality.
@Metaworld Christian nationalists already want to kill the people who don't agree with them or who they don't agree with. They're probably going to be even more outraged when they find out one of their own killed Kirk.
Again, if they would learn to separate faith from politics, they would finally be pleasing God.
Did you know that Charlie wasn't involved in politics? He talked about it, but held no office. You are talking about politics. Should you be killed?
I thought you guys liked free speech. Was that all bullshit?
You said that Charlie wasn't important enough for you to kill. Have you found someone important enough that you want to kill?
@Metaworld You don't have to be a politician to be political. And his ideas and arguments were very clearly political yet trying to lace God into them, as most conservatives do. Deep down "Christian" nationalists want to kill everyone who is not like them, especially homosexuals, blacks, and Latinos. They are the ones who largely own the guns and hope a modern day civil war will give them the excuse they always wanted to use them.
You should be asking the guy who killed him all those things. He was a fellow Republican who shared the same views.
@Metaworld Is it an added bonus when kids of fathers that conservatives hate won't have them for Christmas either? Like the black men cops killed for no reason or the deported fathers who won't see their kids again for quite awhile. It's all the same. Charlie Kirk was no greater of a person than you or me.
The real story isn't Charlie Kirk; it's the toxic state of our public speech. It's the constant rhetoric, the dehumanization, the refusal to listen. When you make the 'other side' the enemy, when you scream at them and call them names, it's no surprise that someone finally pulls a gun. The violence was already in the language. We've been screaming at each other for so long, it's no wonder someone finally shot back.
I'm just trying to sound gay, by the way
Charlie Kirk was a good man, getting many college-age kids involved in politics. Despite what some people believe the liberal media told them, he always encourage discussion.
Whether the shooter should rot will be determined by the justice system, which is the way it should be.
The percentage of the first option in this poll is scary. The only democrat that I did not like who died was Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Jimmy Carter even I has sympathy for them and their family. As awful as Biden was, all I wanted was for him to retire and enjoy the rest of his life with his family.
If you think someone deserves to be shot because of their opinions, there is something seriously wrong with you.
What's sad, you don't see the right wing doing political assassinations.. You don't see them rioting, you don't see them calling for the deaths of our opponents.
Those that celebrate his death, especially like man on fire, are just as bad as those that pulled the trigger, if not worse.
He was the best of the best. MAGA lost a warrior and the world has seen another light get extinguished. It makes me sad but it makes me even sadder to think what he could have accomplished if his life was not cut short.
A part of me wants the killer to experience a painful death. The other part of me wants to see him in the role of the prison bitch of cell block C.
Prison folks cling to two things.
Respect
Their faith. That's all they have. Tyler won't last in prison.
Evil is on the loose. Like the Terminator, it almost can't be stopped. We have to kill it wherever we can.
I'm sick of the discussion already. If you want to know about CK, go listen to what he said. If you think he was right, or said good things, you're not my kind of person.
He was a hatemonger who died from the hands of the monster ideology he created.
I chose b, when i watched the shooting i felt numb, i can never describe how disgusting it is, since i'm a man who doesn't wishes death for my enemy!
@TonyMetal___86 is it really as jarring as people say? The close up version I mean. I don't want to look at it anyway, but most people said it's traumatic.
@avery58 yes they were there and yes it's really terrible and will be stuck in their minds forever...
Imagine that strangers from all around the world including me felt terrible and this terrible even is stuck in our minds, how about his own family, wife and kids ☹
Also this ukrainian girl named iryna who was stabbed to death in a train is stuck in my mind too, how much i wish if she was saved! Also how much i'd be happy if charlie was saved too, but in this world things don't always go the way we wish!
He didn't deserve it but karma makes the rules...
the people calling it karma definitely voted that he deserved it
