A rainbow, and it as NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with fags and lezzies!! I've loved rainbows and very colourful things all my life and it's sad that I can't wear one or paint something with one without people thinking it means I'm gay r support any of those types of people!! I have NO issue with most of them, as long as they aren't il tant about it!! If you're gay, trans r into cross-dressing, fine by me!! Who cares? You're free to be who you are and I have no problems at all with that until you start shoving it down everyone's throat!! I'll treat you as a fellow and equal human being, with the same respect I give anyone else, as long as you do the same with me! I also don't like that I have to explain myself every time I wear something that has a rainbow on it or be afraid that someone might take it to mean something it doesn't and even go so far as to hurt me, or anyone else, just for wearing one... much like the left will beat the shit out of anyone wearing a red hat, even though it has NOTHING to do with the wearer being on the right!!
The west coast of the US has some killer rainbows. I've seen several triples and one quad rainbow. But they don't last long.
When I moved back to the Midwest, we have huge thunder storms. The entire sky lights up. It's one hell of a display sometimes. I grew up in the Midwest, but after leaving for many years and coming back, I forgot how cool thunder storms are. I've known people from other places who moved here and are completely fascinated by them. It's easy to imagine people a few thousand years ago thinking the gods were fighting. They had no idea what was going on.
Actually I like both depending on circumstances. A rainbow, single or double, --very occasionally I even saw a triple one--, is pure magic: sun, clouds and a little rain; the light can really get mysteriously beautiful.
Lightning also has some magic around, especially at night, or when the sky during the day gets very dark, greenish, because of the low clouds. Very impressive for sure, and very beautiful.

Lightning is much more common than a rainbow. It can happen anytime day or night, while a rainbow only happens during daylight, and only if you are in the proper position (about 42 degrees from the sun) to see it.
Lightning for me maybe it's just the explosive sound and power I've seen some impressive ones working on the ocean and some have been scary rainbows are cool to but not like Lightning
100% Lightning Strikes/Thunder. I LOVEE Driving during Thunderstorms specially at night ever since I was as kid I've loved it, even now when there's a thunderstorm during daytime and the whole sky turns purple I ALWAYS step outside or to a window to admire it. Meanwhile rainbows I could care less
