People don't have to lie on the stand or hide evidence anymore. With new technology, people can alter images and change voices. As long as you have enough power, money, or influence, you can get away with murder. You can hide the evidence or push out fake news. You can make the other party look bad by cutting up words and dispersing it to the public. You have notable people back you up. If they like you enough, they'll still listen to your songs and give you payments in royalties.
You can cover it up by creating new news. What you've done faded into the background. I don't think people care anymore for the truth. Just cheer for the side who's winning, dog pile on the people you hate, and spread your view so more people can agree with you.

As much as I'd enjoy bashing the US, because I assume that is what you mean when you say America, this was always going to be a problem.

Crime and Law has always played a game of cat and mouse. Normally law wins because the mice are not sharing progress. At some point reinventing the wheel gets you nowhere if the race opponent is flying. AI and the ability to duplicate videos, pictures, voices etc is obviously going to be a worldwide problem legally and need entirely new failsafe systems that are currently not in place.

But yes. Evidence fabrication, and more so claiming evidence was fabricated against you, is going to see never before seen heights. We have already seen some very notable people try to use those excuses.

There has always been a two tier justice system. Justice for the rich and justice for the rest of us.
Lately it has gotten more political. If you are a democrat you get a get out of jail free card.
