What is it with Trump and his false reports of violence in Portland and other cities? Does he not know that we know he is lying, as usual?

I think that the lack of evidence for a true emergency must be what has undermined Trump's efforts to convince others and the courts that the emergencies he says he has to respond to actually exist. That said, I would expect him to redouble his efforts to provoke people into responding to his military and law enforcement forces with violence, which he could then point to and call an emergency, and actually be somewhat convincing. I do not put it past him to plant provocateurs and actors in crowds of protesters in furtherance of this goal. I think it's important to remember that this man is a sociopath and he will resort to any form of manipulation that he thinks he can get away with to achieve what he wants.

We need to be very wary of this tactic and never respond to anything, including his violence, with our own violence.
