7 moIt's not Trumps trade war. China and most of the rest of the world started it with their protectionist policies. Why didn't everyone complain about that? Why does everyone complain when someone tries to STOP protectionist policies around the world?
China was being total dicks for their timing just before harvest season. Blame them, not Trump. Trump should increase the tariffs against China even more because of it. If China doesn't stop their bullshit, he should raise tariffs again and again.
China can't win - not unless the US lets them win like they have in the past.Apparently all these people whining about tariffs want continued lopsided trade.

@exitseven Well, that’s capitalism and a market economy. Whatever bullshit tariffs and economic policy Pres. Pedo is, and has, rolled out is certainly not fixing the rust belt’s problems, nor opening up factories.

@exitseven And if they're white, they vote REPIGLIKSWINE. Brilliant, eh?(I'm a Canadian lad.)
- 7 mo
@beefcakebradybatson I will never vote Canadian.

@exitseven You don't live here, bucko.

@beefcakebradybatson I bet illegal aliens can vote in Canada. The big question is "why would they.
- 7 mo
@Tamera952
It worked in the past. Why do you think there are so many Japanese auto makers in the US now? It's because Japan had protectionist policies much like China does now. When the US started cracking down on the lopsided trade, the Japanese automakers started building plants in the US.
If the US didn't crack down on the unfair lopsided trade with Japan, those plants and over a million jobs would not be here. Don't say it doesn't work when it does. - 7 mo
@beefcakebradybatson
Take you racist ass somewhere else mother fucker.
7 moMany farmers have indeed suffered losses in the short term from the trade war, but their support for Trump is often driven by cultural identity, values, or political stance, rather than pure economic interests. This suggests that voter behavior is not always driven by rational economic calculations.

@exitseven You’re dreaming. The policies are fundamentally flawed, and baseless

7 moWhat should they have known? What do you think farmers WOULD have done if Trump had announced:
"Hey guys, look. I'm gonna impose restrictive tariffs on your products sold to China and a few other countries. I know they buy 90% of your crop, but I don't "think" they'll balk at the price and you'll do just fine because we're the United States and nobody fucks with us".
They still would have voted for him, not considering what would happen IF those countries refused to buy at the newly tariffed price. What would happen if nobody bought our stuff BECAUSE of what Trump told us he's definitely going to do? Not a consideration in their mind.
So I believe they didn't know because they couldn't imagine it, and even if they were conscious that it "might" happen, they'd choose not to believe it because "there's no way I'm voting for Biden, or the Dems, even though it's because of THEIR trade policies that I'm still in business".
00 Reply 412 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Ignoring the social issues (those in rural areas typically being more socially conservative), farmers - not farmworkers, but actual farmers who own land - are mostly pretty rich when you take into account all their assets (multi-millionaires), so they would have been hoping for tax cuts. Plus, even if Trump were to do something else to screw them over (such as the tariffs), they would have been pretty confident that he'd at least bail them out. And it turns out they were right.
00 Reply663 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, they did not. I posted a question months into Trump’s becoming President about how Nebraska would lose all of its migrant workers and become like a ghost town state, given 6 months, because all the farmers workers would leave because of ICE. All those farmers were about 90 percent Trump voters. That’s what’s happening right on time. They are paying the price of voting for that lunatic.

7 moNo, trump supporting farmers are morons who can never connect the dots on anything. They have spent their lives being surprised by everything they don’t understand and perpetually angry.
10 Reply 26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. First you have to take the source into account,. CBS News has long been associated with fictional tales against Republicans. That being said, this might be only one farmer that is being effected. Soybeans are a commodity that are purchased by many different countries. Having one trade partner refuse to but them does not mean that the many countries that have already made trade agreements with the US will not buy soybeans.

Asker7 mo"might be only one farmer that is being affected"? What are you smoking? I guess that explains why Trump is talking about a $14 billion dollar bailout! It's amazing what you MAGATS do to try to twist reality! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
- 7 mo
@Tamera952 and @Asker : This guy never even knows what he’s talking about. He’s either an idiot devoted to spreading trump’s lies and pleasing his master however he can, or just another full-time troll who gets off wasting everyone’s time, smugly rubbing his nipples as he tearfully congratulates himself he’s "owning the libs".
- 7 mo
*that he's "owning the libs."
- 7 mo
The problem with the fake news is that nobody believes anything they say. most peopole assume if their lips are moving it just means that they are lying.
They are still saying that people are just getting grabbed right off the street never to be seen again. When asked if they can give a single example of this actually happening all you hear is crickets. - 7 mo
@exitseven There are plenty of examples. It's not necessarily that people "disappear" and are "never seen again" (technically): it's the fact that they are indeed taken from the street or from wherever the fuck else; thrown in a van; terrorized, insulted and roughed up by cosplay cops; brought in an undisclosed location; held there until fuck knows when; separated from their children; denied contact with their families or friends until they finally are flown to some country where most of them aren't even from.
Here's one case in particular:
www.theguardian.com/.../ice-detention-facility-alexandria-louisiana-deportation
And a report about trump and ICE's abuse of human rights:
humanrightsfirst.org/.../
Of course, it's obviously fake news, because it shows trump and ICE in a bad light. Don't worry about it! That's the magic of MAGA wonderland! 🦄🌈🌈 Yay!
Can you imagine the assload of lawsuits the US government will have to face when trump is finally kicked out of the White House? If he wasn't going to prison in between his terms (we'll never know, unfortunately), he definitely is now! - 7 mo
@Danzigdawson Arresting somebody, especally a criminal is one of the most dangerous things law enforcement can do. Getting them safely into custody without anybody getting hure sometimes requres stealth instead of brute force.
Shold ICE agents approach an illegal alien on a crowded street and identify themselves and the illegal alien will just stop and allow him or her to be taken into custody >/ ? What is they are armed of if a struggle ensues? A bystanedr gets shot?
If these idiot mayors would not get these moron liberals all whipped up into a frenzy maybe thids woud not be necessary but as it is now, it is
