He also didn't realize that tariffs of aluminum and steel will kill the auto industry. I don't know how stupid you could be to not be able to figure that out but maybe he doesn't know what cars are made of

that's the problem, there are consequences to playing those power games. probably, probably doesn't care too much til people scream.
other countries produce things we like and don't make at home and never will. the price of those things, will go up and we'll use them less.

His tariff position is based on the assumptions that the US has enough resources that it doesn’t have to import, and that no US business has enough market saturation where it doesn’t have to export. Both are wrong.
