Trending & News I still congrats US, even though it has so many problems like this, still so powerful. How does it succeed this way?
Because the defining feature of modern societies is not how efficient or powerful they are but rather how difficult it is to destroy them. Sure, if USA suffers from this in the long term, maybe even hundreds of years, then there will come a tipping point where shit stops working but it takes a lot to actually destroy a modern society.
Even after WW1 and WW2 you can see war ravaged European nations like Germany and France pretty much bounce right back like nothing ever happened. It would take something truly apocalyptic or potentially centuries of setbacks to bring a modern super power to its knees, or alternatively having that nation be internally flawed like the USSR was.
If USA is set to fail, for the sake of argument, then you might not live long enough to see the it from start to finish. The fall of the Roman Empire is a pretty good example of just how long and extremely drawn out a national collapse of a super power can be. There was literally several other major powers that was created and destroyed between the point where Rome began its collapse and when it finally fell, much less the number of human generations it took.
Mass shootings - Irrelevant. It's so minuscule that it has no significant affect on the country as a whole.
Homelesness - Same as mass shootings - irrelevant.
Pricy healthcare - Yes, it's pricy. Part of the reason is because we pay more so the rest of the world can pay less. In other words, we are paying to supplement the rest of the world. It's also expensive because it's really damn good, and damn good is always expensive.
Ignorant people and society - That statement in itself is ignorant. Common sense and a little research and thought should tell you otherwise.
Crazy presidents - matter of opinion
Greedy companies - Nope. Apparently you don't know much about it.
Sorry but you are very ıgnorant, man. Also fastfood everywhere, and this makes your brain weaker, and most women are fat.
You obviously have no clue what you are talking about.
Then answer the main question, sir.
Like most countries, things like geography and natural resources have a lot to do with their wealth and power. The US is the third largest country by area, which in itself is a huge asset. It has lots and varied natural resources. It has great farmland with high yield. It has two long coasts with lots of good harbors, plus a couple of good navigable internal waterways, and several lesser ones. It has a good rail system and highway system.
Contrary to what you might think about ignorance, most of the top universities in the world are in the US. It has one of the highest education attainments in the world. It does as much medical research as the rest of the world combined. It also does a tremendous amount of scientific research. It does a tremendous amount of engineering R&D. It has a huge financial sector. It still has a major manufacturing sector.
It has lots of freedom (maybe too much). It has tremendous upward mobility (sometimes called "The American Dream"). Yes, it is still alive and well.
The large size and diversity also means there's a little of something for everyone. If someone can't find a place to live that they like in the US, it's because they have very specific desires.
Yo. So, that's why i asked this question. Even tho it is the best in many fields, why there are still too many goddamn problems like a third world country? Even little countries in Europe or asia or middle east has no those terrible issues.
The point was that those things AREN'T big problems, not to the point of making any difference in the big picture. Except maybe for health care.
Most of what you see as problems, I don't see as problems. Either they simply aren't true at all, or they are insignificant.
Our healthcare isn't "damn good" when compared to the rest of the civilized world.
@supercutebutt
It sure as hell is. As the saying goes, if you want good go to the US. If you want cheap go somewhere else.
US Health Care System Ranks Last Overall Among Other High-Income Countries
The US health care system is underperforming despite high spending, and reform is needed in areas like insurance coverage, primary care, and equity to improve overall health outcomes.

That’s just a small %… mostly on social media… it’s not that bad here.
fast food yes… we do have to work hard to get real good early by foods.
We have embraced gloryhole culture here in the USA.

The USA still has a lot of wealth. It's just concentrated in the hands of a small % of the population. And we have the worlds largest strongest military for the moment. But we are a society in decline. The US is failing. It just doesn't happen overnight. As you noted, we have a lot of problems. One you neglected to point out is rampant racism and a recent turn to fascism as the working poor are fed propaganda to keep them angry at other poor people rather than the rich who are slowly killing them.
Obviously these things are eroding their strength. No empire has lasted forever.
They are only powerful because of their economy and military. Bullies are generally not very intelligent anyway.
I feel like it's because we have rights and get to vote on things I don't know i feel like there are still worse places we could have to live
How does it feel like to be an American
It's fine for me lol but I don't know any diffrent
We are lucky we have a President that wants to make America Great Again.
Yes, even tho Trump is crazy, he wants for your good. Unlike many traitor dog presidents in the world.
It's a tripod of power. Cultural, economic, military. Pull the leg out from any of them and it topples.
Because we’re Americans and can overcome and conquer anything
Everyone says US government is evil and devil. Like their own government is angel. I never get this. If arab dogs had all those opportunities and power, they would burn the world so many times
