FOX "News" seems to be blaming either Trump's tariffs or climate change for the insane inflation we are experiencing. Who or what are you blaming?

tRump and Project 2025 has caused yet another Republican economy... AKA Fucking Disaster of incompetence and sucking dick for billionaires. Another drastic increase in the federal deficit and borrowing. Tax cuts for billionaires. Tariffs across every sector of the economy randomly and simultaneously. A global trade war that the USA is losing spectacularly with every one of our major trading partners. Foreign markets closed to the US for decades. Soybeans, wheat, canola, corn, cotton, pork, beef, whiskey, steel, defense. A sudden rapid removal of the agricultural workforce due to ICE raids.  Bankruptcies across every rural state that depends on agriculture. Random federal headcount cuts by a billionaire moron immigrant from South Africa and his Ivy league entourage who were never even employees of the federal government. A government shutdown. A crypto currency market collapse. A dead real estate market. Deal flow on Wall Street shut down due to uncertainty and risk from unpredictable policy shifts by a Toddler In Chief. Debt markets also shut down by the same economic idiocy of our Toddler In Chief The food supply and disease control on autopilot with Brain Worm Bobby in charge of the FDA.

Companies are trying to absorb the tariffs and are expecting all the tariffs they paid to be refunded when the Supreme Court upholds lower courts rulings. If that doesn't happen, inflation will really skyrocket. Automakers have resisted raising prices but tariffs have already cost them $30B which means you should expect car prices to either go way higher or they'll need a bailout.

So let's get this right, bad weather has lowered yield pushing the price up and you guys slap a massive tariff on top. Now coffee is a luxury product you can't afford.

i know is some crazy price increases out there , some recent ones i can recall

- $5.69 for 1 pepperoni pizza slice, it used to always be under $4

- $15 for a take out order of chicken strips and fries from a fast food outlet , used to be $11

- $3.69 for 1 chocolate bar from a convenience store , used to be like $2

- crazy prices at fast food spots if you try and buy items individually , like $4 for a small fries , $ 8 for the sandwich , $5 for a drink and even if you get the combo it only saves a tiny bit and still like $15 with tax

I think an apple tree woke up this morning and decided the apples it makes, are worth more then we realize. It couldn't tell us that the universe pointed it out to use with all the things on your list. The real problem is we all argue about who or what did it instead of how to fix it... in that way we are to blame.

It is complicated. A lot of it had to do with the ripples from the Covid crisis and its affect on supply chains. But the tariffs definitely aren't helping - they basically shift the tax burden from the rich to everyone else while driving up prices.

The people who decided to embark on widespread money printing are obviously the people to blame. Anyone who knows the basics of economics knows that if you expand the money supply very quickly, inflation is the inevitable outcome.

Whether the people who embarked on the money printing had any other realistic choices is obviously the most important question to answer...

Tariffs are going to make it worse. Corporate greed will make it worse. Any chance a corporation has to have an excuse to charge more they will. If their costs go up a dollar they will charge 3 extra and blame it on rising costs.
