News flash dude... this country has been fucked up since 1776. Learn something about its real history. But ok, you want to talk 20 to 30 years, let's make it 45. Reagan era. He's responsible for starting the whole income disparity situation today where the middle class got gutted and the rich got richer. Bullshit like "trickle-down economics", flipping taxes on corporations, eliminating free or cheap higher education, etc.
The ONLY thing Reagan got right was understanding WHY California needed migrant workers and immigrants. He knew they were the backbone of the entire agricultural economy, and so fucking what if they got emergency health care in hospitals? The cost to the state was nothing compared to their value as laborers. Your party KNOWS this, but they choose to double down on the deportation BS because "hating brown/black/Mexican people" is an easy sell to you idiots.

Clinton is the ONLY President in the last 50 years to leave office with a SURPLUS on the debt. Bush & mostly Cheney promptly spent that on a fake war and eventually blew up everyone's portfolio in 2008. Obama came in and cleaned up that disaster too, virtually saving the US economy from an embarrassing total collapse. Then your next and current idiot got in and turned the USA into a world wide joke which Biden brought back with 4 years of GDP growth. Now the previous idiot is back doing even MORE harm than the first time.
My educated guess is that you've never been out of the US and spent any amount of time elsewhere. You have no clue how the US is viewed by anyone else, correctly or otherwise, and you don't care. So here's another news flash: the rest of the world thinks we're a spoiled, stupidly violent country who elects really horrible individuals (criminals, grifters, sexual assaulters, habitual liars, etc), but has some nice scenery.
I know this because I've spent years travelling to over 22 countries. You know shit about the rest of the world. If ANYTHING, the world is fearful that a stupid, narcissistic maniac is in charge of nuclear weapons and a vast army, and that he could lose his mind on the toilet at any given moment and start a war. - 7 mo
I am a legal immigrant. Have been here since 10 years. old with my family.
I was an exchange student overseas for a semester. I have also travelled to over 15 countries …
I know how the world sees us.
I was never into politics till trumps second term.
I also know enough that trump will not be able to fix what’s broken for over 30-40 years.
What he is doing, I agree 90%
You know that we will always view things differently.
We can leave it at that respectfully. - 7 mo
* What's been "broken" here is over 250 years old, not 30 or 40.
* It doesn't matter if you're into politics whenever, because it ALWAYS affects everyone's life, whether they want to admit it or like it.
* Viewing things differently is a natural fact. There's nothing new or interesting about that. However, having respect for the those different views is not a requirement, especially when those views are inflicted upon myself or others.
* When you say you agree with 90% of what Trump is doing, all that tells me is you agree with 90% of his vile behavior and actions, and Trump is 100% vile. You will say "that's my opinion", but it's really about facts that show the hardships, disregard and cruelty he has done to the American people. He is demonstrably, provably... vile. I have since given up laying this out for his cult members because it became a waste of my time, as they refused to critically evaluate data.

Now try and grasp this, because it could affect you. You say "I'm a legal immigrant". Are you brown/dark/tan/black skinned? Are your children? You can be picked up any time, detained, deported, before anyone even knows you're missing. There's less chance if you're white, but the fact that you're here "legally", OR that you're a "citizen", no longer matters in Trump's America.
Is that part of the 10% you don't support? Probably, because it involves you. What of the critics he targets and attempts to silence? What of the threats made to colleges, universities or other institutions of learning, to without funding unless they succumb to his demands regarding curriculum? This list never ends.
** I, however, unlike his list of vileness, will end with this. The fact that you claim to know how the USA is viewed, and understand why, yet still support his actions to such a large degree, earns your views the same disrespect that I have for his, or anyone who supports him. You are fool enough to believe that the pauper eating bread crumbs, not the billionaire grifting your tax money, is the problem. You are fool enough not to recognize that hatred, fear, racism and the white supremacy that has fueled this country since its inception, is now greenlighted and urged to flourish as if it's a savior and not the actual destroyer. And topping it ALL off --- you are a recent immigrant yourself. You support a tyrant, and I can disrespectfully leave it at that. - 7 mo
@loveslongnails what are your other options?
- 7 mo
To this day… I learned what’s more important is what happens in my own house vs what happens in the White House.
- 7 mo
Options for what?
- 7 mo
Exactly, and what's happening in your OWN house is that you're supporting a vile man, a sexual assaulter and adjudicated rapist, a felon, a pathological liar, et. al., ... oh, but only 90%. Nothing I say is going to matter.
- 7 mo
@loveslongnails
You are very unhappy with him…I get that… what are your options? - 7 mo
@loveslongnails my own home is peaceful and harmonious. I am raising 2 very good kids and is in a happy marriage.
We don’t talk politics.
You want to convince me to hate trump? Don’t be silly. I don’t really care much about politics… I am agreeing with a lot with what he is doing and glad he is putting his foot down to take control of certain things - 7 mo
I don't care if you hate him or not. What I'm saying is you're aligned with, and support, 90% of his actions. You also "think" you're safe because "you're a legal immigrant" and have a happy marriage, blah, blah, blah, and you ignore politics.
What my point is, which you are continually missing, is that Trump' actions and P-2025's plans are NOT politics. It's not differing points of view to achieve the same basic goals in some form of beneficial bi-partisan ship. THAT'S politics. What they're doing is dismantling one form of governing and replacing it with authoritarianism and fascism. It's total moral decay.
You can ignore it all you want and hope it never affects your idyllic life, but it will. It will affect your kids severely, and at some point, most likely you. I don't care if you hate or love Trump, but you SHOULD be aware that he hates YOU because you're an "immigrant", even though he's married to one. He hates you because you're not white. He hates you because you're not rich and donating to him.
Call me overreactive, crazy, deranged, paranoid, I don't care. The facts on the street speak for themselves. If you're not alarmed, that's your business. But it comes for you, remember that you supported it and agreed with it. - 7 mo
@loveslongnails
Yeah dont watch too much tv/news… don’t get involve with too much of these political stuff…
I am happy with where I am and who I am.
No need to worry about me. But I thank you for caring.
Having a peaceful family, happy life. Raising good kids. Contributing to the society is ivery important to me.
Ignoring politics is my goal in life… especially in the USA… it causes divide…. I am all about unity and harmony.
My life, my existence is working well for me and my family.
America has serve me well … trumps existence (term1) has not affect me… as of today.. no different to my life/family… the future? I don’t worry too much… too far… we may or may not be here. That’s what I teach to my children. Keep an open mind. Be self sufficient… always be ready and be valuable.
What is your purpose sharing all these with me?
What is your goal/purpose in life? - 7 mo
What’s happening in your street?
Are you okay? Your family? - 7 mo
My purpose is clear enough -- to prepare those with their heads in the sand for what's coming when they take it out of the sand. I'm fine. My family and I are getting out to live in a better place.
- 7 mo
Others can say the same regarding different political parties. I don’t like the divide. I respect the differences.
I am happy that your family is safe. Healthy? What are your options? (Getting out to live in a better place)
are you a political activist?
In this forum (myself) is not an effective way to share your view.
I have my purposes and goals… which is peace and harmony in the family. - 7 mo
I advocate for the good of people... period... not corporations, not profit.

7 mo$250 million so the rich have a ballroom at the Whitehouse, while cutting off food stamps to the poor shows what a dick Trump is. However, he is also stopping the war in Gaza and possibly the war in Ukraine. So, he does do some good too. The jury is still out deliberating on your statement.

@Bricealan I never saw it way he was paying the bill. What he said is that he was suing someone for $230 mil, and if he won he would donate it to the cost of building it. If he doesn't win who knows who will wind up paying. Most likely the taxpayers.
