    Forever.

Parents died and left a half million in property that I sold in probate. Still working my day job no different then when I was at 20 but zero worries going hungry even after turning 100.

Very modesty and if we can get a universal health care system for USA. I can move somewhere cheaper. Being Alaskan native with free healthcare is good an all but I want to live by the ocean.

There are places in Alaska where you can move and keep your free healthcare and live by the ocean.

@Red_Arrow Ancor town sure i guess. Just visited for AFN. It's just not the same having to move THERE vs wanting to move anywhere else that's possible. Get what I mean?

@JamesMillerOwl no no you got to have native American blood. So born from a native alaskan native parent to have free healthcare.

So historically the Indians got fucked over. "Save the man kill the the Indian."

      https://youtu.be/UGqWRyBCHhw?si=bTposKW_LIkjYOry

That Was a thing for a hundred years but alaska wasn't a state yet. So alaskan native leaders made it a point to not to have reservations and created alaskan native corporations like DOYON and NORTH SLOPE. They are like independent country's inside usa territory and native alaskan are share holders and get benefits like a yearly check of profits dividends and healthcare.

You could move and marry someone one who is a share holder and your kids would have the benefits.

@JamesMillerOwl if you just move anywhere in alaska and become resident for over 2 years you are eligible to get the permanent dividend fund. $1000 bucks first of October just filling out a internet form.

Alaska is the lowest tax burden in the union and a yearly UBI.

I'm retired now. When I was working though, I was fortunate to almost always have enough money to last 6 months if I lost my job. Never had to use that. The only time I lost my job, I had another one, at more pay, 2 months later.

We have enough till we died and more left over for kids school and more to help them with their first home.
    the rest is on them.
If we don’t travel… we can help them all with their first home with cash… but it should work like that , they need to work to get that offer.

I have absolute job security. I work for my parents so if they fired me I would have to move back in with them. 😊 And there's about 30 bucks in my savings. 😳

Probably a year. Longer if i moved to a less expensive area. I might even have family that would help me out.

My "job" is self perpetuating, so long as you or someone like you has a job and needs a place to live. If my job goes away, nobody has a job.

I have 2 jobs, and I could quit or be fired from one and still pay my monthly bills with the other. If I got fired from both, I think I could last about a year on my savings

I did 2 years ago. Had I not spent half my savings on travel, I could've survived like 5 years. But I still have enough to survive at least 2.

I lost my job last year and I had about 1.5 year before I would have to move. I used about 5 months of that.

A couple of months, without accessing retirement savings, but my assumption is I’d be packaged out which would carry me over a year
