No. It's more expensive to fake the moon landing then actually going to the moon at the time.

Beyond the exploration itself the coolest thing about NASA is how much technology advances out of pure nessesity. Like battery power tools just wasn't a thing before NASA needed them for space walks. If you got a chance reas the Martian or listen to the audio book. The problem solving is very unique.
