The UKs prisons are chronically over populated. Rhe Governments solution is to release prisoners early. Why not just build more prisons?

The old solution of setting up penal colonies is no longer fashionable so that is not a starter.

But the the UK has now unoccupied Westward Isles. Why not just ship them out and dump them on one of those. St Kilda Isle still has houses the prisoners could fix up to their satisfaction.

Being part of the UK it would not be a colony so should be an OK variation of traditions..

The UK is not a big place land wise so it might be a bit difficult to build more prisons.

Build a society where the likelihood of people committing crimes is very low. More job opportunities , more redistribution of the money that the working classes generate back into their pockets.

The solution isn't more prisons it's to change people's attitudes so they don't commit crime in the first place.
