yes, we need to put restrictions on that money so they only buy foods considered healthy and devoid of additives. I'd simplify it down to a few basic meals, spices, fruits, veg... maybe certain personal care items.

Get past your self delusion as to what is going on. It's called SNAP - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Key word there is nutrition. Explain to me how much nutrition they get out of candy, white bread, cheerios and soda pop?

Instead of paying attention to the percentage taxes that they pay pay attention to the percentage of their total income that they pay as taxes. You will be more surprised yet again and how little they actually pay.

This is not difficult to do. Just calculate the percentage that tax is paid represents the percentage of net worth and you will see that they pay very very little. Most of this. If not all of it is due to good tax avoidance strategies that are devised by their highly paid and numerous accountants. One very favored strategy is to not really earn any money at all but rather borrow large amounts and live on the interest that the then invested borrowed amount yields.

He does not have the legal authority to pay any amount without congressional approval, which they are not giving. He's trying to find any way he can to give the benefits out. If he's found a way to give out half the benefits gets us to November 15, giving him more time to find a solution. Democrats could solve this with one phone call, but they won't.
