It's good he sees the problems and brings to the surface. It's bad if he only does what he's said he would do.. much of which he doesn't control.
Implementing other tradeoffs to his policies might work... it's all an equation... holding one variable firm causes the other variables to move. If he takes risk off of developers/owners, it could offset freezing price... maybe. Quality/safety will decline as a result.
I wonder how many posters here are planning to buy or build property in NYC right now given the return would be negative? Do it for the love not the money?

He is exactly what the Democratic Party needs. I've had a long standing criticism of the Democrats in that they always come across as mushy and polite and easy to rattle, always looking to take the high road.
And then this guy takes to the stage and says " I'm an immigrant and a Muslim and socialist, and I don't apologize for it." In other words. . ."fuck you MAGA if you don't like it." Democrats need more of these people, like Newsom, and Pritzker also. The Democrats need more outspoken people not afraid to roll around in the muck and exchange some punches, and come mid-terms they can knock em out, and only the illiterate orange marshmallow man will be left without any power, jerking off in his new ballroom. After the way people voted yesterday, the Republicans are ripe for the pickings.

This is good thing, the playing field has to be leveled against the rich oligarths, corporations, all rich motherfuckers. Democratic Socialism is the only hope the working class people have. The super rich/ corporations/ rich motherfuckers are no longer the job makers now they are the unemployment creators with AI and it can only get worst. The rich motherfuckers/ corporations are trying to turn this country into a Latin American country like Mexico or Peru. A few elite rich and a whole lot of poor peons that will work for peanuts to survive.

Socialism never worked because capitalist forces always sought to undermine and sabotage it. It's the ultra-rich trying to convince you that co-operation doesn't work while they sanction and bomb the hell out of everyone trying to do a different economic system.
@Spencer10 Pure capitalism? It's never been done so we can't say whether it works or not.. But so far it has a much more argument for it than Socialism... Although I do question how someone says that a pure free Market free from any regulation would not work.. Most people don't really understand capitalism and think that it's just businesses taking money from people..
@Joshydavid25 I do agree I do not think pure capitalism ever existed. Maybe around the beginning of the industrial revolution was as close as it got. Thats why I used the term "free enterprise" But there must always be limits and controls on the profit motive of free enterprise other wise people will get hurt by the pursuit of profit. Think the Bhopal or 3 Mile Island disasters. Greed can make organizations and people do stupid things. So the assumption can be made that pure capitalism would be a disaster.
@Spencer10 That's actually a fair assessment.. But I would argue that it doesn't.. Capitalism isn't only about profit, but about private ownership.. Pure Capitalism is privatizing everything and having people exchange for how ever mother think it worth.. You could say that there are downsides to that (which there probably are) but I feel like the trade off is much higher.
