Wishing bad things for other people is pretty universally seen as a bad thing to do. Honestly, I saw this coming from a million miles away. New York, and Manhattan specifically, exists in a very blue bubble that works and acts very differently from the rest of the country. Not to mention every time someone mentioned the NYC mayoral race, Mamdani’s name was the only one I heard. I don’t even know who he was running against, but that alone was enough to tell me the media gave him a ton of free marketing that undoubtedly boosted his campaign whether it was to praise or criticize him.
