2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No hate. I hope he does well for the people of NYC. But I doubt it very much. That is exactly how I felt when Obama won and he was a terrible President. I think NYC will suffer greatly from this election and it serves them right for allowing it. They allowed it by being lax on voter ID laws, they don’t require valid identification.
I would expect a lot of their rich will move down to Florida to follow the ones who have moved over the past 3 years due to crime. I also would not be surprised in the least if major financial firms moved there as well given the low taxes. NY will then become a dump that does not have a tax base, just lots of free loaders looking for handouts. And as the white people leave, so will much of what made NY great. Non-white in this country don’t really keep any city great like they used to be… just shadows of themselves.

I haven't bought into the anti-Islamic propaganda that is promoted on corporate media because I have known and interacted with lots of Muslims. I know what Syria was like before the U. S. overthrew the government and installed a head-chopping, alQaida terrorist. I know what Palestine was like before western colonists took over. There are happy Jews and Christians, churches and synagogues in Iran.
Islam is not inherently violent or imperialistic any more than Judaism, Christianity or Hinduism are inherently so.
211 Reply- 7 mo
Islam is inherently more violent than Christianity and Islam because its founder was a good military leader who practiced violence. Islam is a religious founded in the midst of war and violence. That doesn't mean all Muslims are violent and all Jews and Christians are pacifists. It just means that Islam is more violent than those religions.
- 7 mo
@NewtoTheSouth. Yeah right. Have you read the history of early Christianity in Europe or, for that matter later, Christianity with the Inquisition, the Cromwellians, the conquering of the New World? It seems like Christianity was inherently violent.
And, regarding Judaism, they brag about supposedly conquering Canaan and slaughtering entire cities, including women, children and animals. That's mythology, but it is part of their religious text. And read some of the Talmud. It will chill your bones.
Western propaganda has demonized Islam ever since Zionism began. It is an excuse for colonialism in the Middle East and western Asia since the end of WWI. Colonists always characterize resistors as barbarians and terrorists. It's what the British did to the Irish and east Indians and what Americans did to Native Americans and Filipinos, for example. - 7 mo
I'm not saying Christians and Jews aren't violent. I am just saying that are less violent than Muslims. How do you think Muslims got control of that area in the first place? It was brutal conquest in the seventh and eighth centuries.
- 7 mo
My family was on the other end of catholic persecutions in France. We burned alongside Joan of Arc. Popes seemed to believe that if they were able to hand over a world that was totally catholic to the returning Christ that He would show them favor.
- 7 mo
@NewtoTheSouth. Brutal conquest? Compared to the history of Christianity and what the Israelis have been doing for almost 80 years? LOL.
Why did so many Jews and Christians survive and continue to thrive in the middle east? Why were their churches, synagogues and holy places not destroyed? - 7 mo
@Lliam "Why did so many Jews and Christians survive and continue to thrive in the middle east? Why were their churches, synagogues and holy places not destroyed?"
They haven't.. Many countries used to have many Jews and Christians and now they are damn near extinct.. Like Syria.. I don't know if you've heard about the Christian genocide (actual genocide) in Nigeria.. Christians are barely surviving in the Middle East.. Only reason they are still around is because of the mercy of God and the strong conviction of Christianity..
Also in Israel they have Muslim and Palestinian officials in the government.. - 7 mo
@Joshydavid25. LOL. Whatever you say.
- 7 mo
No, it's whatever the facts are..
- 6 mo
@Joshydavid25. You have been indoctrinated. You couldn't face actual facts because you would suffer cognitive dissonance.
But hey, believe what you want. Some people believe that men can be women and can't be convinced otherwise, either. - 6 mo
Indoctrination would be me thinking that Israel is committing a genocide against its aggressors.. Or me falling for the "Blackity Black" victim hood mentality that the world is against us.. No, I just formed my own opinion based off my presupposition and the information I've seen for myself.. Reading the passages of Islam where everybody is isn't Muslim is an enemy be conquered is one of them..
7 moHow does him being Muslim even matters?
I mean I'm from India and one of the greatest presidents (by the way who also has a big hand behind ISRO and DRDO) we had was a Muslim, APJ Abdul Kalam.
As long as he does his job well I don't see how anything else even matters.
Referring to someone with their religion, gender, race or anything like that is so discriminatory and is done by people having strong prejudice against these stuff.
After a year or at least months we'll truly know if the people chose a right mayor or not, hating him from starting is insane. This might be one of the reasons why someone who has a great potential to be a rightful politician prefers not to be involved at all.
23 Reply- 6 mo
In India too. So bad that you can get killed for it. I just hope people stop being biased. We have bad and good examples from every religion and race.

7 moI don't hate Muslims. I feel sorry for New Yorkers. If even some of Mamdani's socialist plans get implemented, NYC will hurt. In particular, his plan to tax the rich more will lead to some of them leaving NYC; there goes a major source of tax revenues, since 1% of them pay 46% of overall tax revenues. That means Mamdani will have to raise taxes for the middle class to fund his plans for free buses and city-owned grocery stores. Socialism has never worked anywhere. It's only a matter of time before it fails in NYC.
15 Reply- 6 mo
how about never happens where are you getting bus drivers to volunteer or let's move there free groceries free bus/train we can shoplift all we want
- 6 mo
@chrissykerdock What? Do you think public defenders aren't paid? Free health care doesn't pay the doctors? Of course the drivers will be paid, it's just the passengers won't have to pay. And nobody said "free groceries", they said government grocery stores.

6 mozero for muslim, didn't even think about that til he mentioned it. It could be a risk in terms of what he says and how he handles the Jews. He looks like Jesus and his decisions may be more like Jesus. How fascinating is that... maybe he should wear a white robe and carry a cross?
for his policies don't say hate, but big question mark.
Is fine if he does balanced decisions and leads... can cleanup a lot of problems. But what I'm hearing from the wealthy that pays the taxes is not good. They've been leaving well before this... but does this create a bigger drive out?
Was good interview with realtors that spoke truth, cannot find... Bottom line, big money pays for a lot of this. without it what happens?
your guess as good as anyone.

7 moZero hate. Optimism is high. I can understand why some people are concerned with how he's going to do what he says in a way that actually pays off in positive dividends for the city, but he has an actual plan and he wants to help avg people to thrive. What plans did Cuomo or Sliwa have? They concentrated talking down about Mamdani and he crushed them with being intelligent and actually having a plan that requires trying new things. The same old bs political rhetoric isn't helping NYC. Asking millionaires to pay 2% more isn't a lot to ask and some people and businesses can pay a little more so the rest of us can live here too.
I don't have patience for opinions that are just racist or opinions that were formed without ever really listening to Mamdani speak in more than ten seconds clips. Like how many times does he have to say I'm not going to make you eat halal food or I'm not a Jihadist.

if they can make the usa like the uk then they have succeeded in their hardest mission. mamdani seems like a good guy, but he's a very rich guy that came to our country and jumped right into politics. that should be illegal. it's very easy to be a nobody with a good guy image to get you into the seat. the jury is still out on ZM for now.

@Danzigdawson Nobody really worries about hurricanes here. It's like snow in the North East. You're just a limp dick soy boy so they terrify your cowardly heart and make you want to wet your pants. I'd be more concerned with ground water levels dropping from increased population, than sea levels rising, but I get it you're retarded and can't do basic math so you believe whatever media tells you. That said, Florida has some of the best ground water resources in the world so it's not a major concern. You know, New York use to be the third largest state once upon a time, but it's failures have been Florida's gains. As you grow weaker, we grow stronger.
