No hate. I hope he does well for the people of NYC. But I doubt it very much. That is exactly how I felt when Obama won and he was a terrible President. I think NYC will suffer greatly from this election and it serves them right for allowing it. They allowed it by being lax on voter ID laws, they don’t require valid identification.

I would expect a lot of their rich will move down to Florida to follow the ones who have moved over the past 3 years due to crime. I also would not be surprised in the least if major financial firms moved there as well given the low taxes. NY will then become a dump that does not have a tax base, just lots of free loaders looking for handouts. And as the white people leave, so will much of what made NY great. Non-white in this country don’t really keep any city great like they used to be… just shadows of themselves.

The only Muslims I fear are Jihadists. Just like the only Jews I hate are Israelis and their supporters.

I haven't bought into the anti-Islamic propaganda that is promoted on corporate media because I have known and interacted with lots of Muslims. I know what Syria was like before the U. S. overthrew the government and installed a head-chopping, alQaida terrorist. I know what Palestine was like before western colonists took over. There are happy Jews and Christians, churches and synagogues in Iran.

Islam is not inherently violent or imperialistic any more than Judaism, Christianity or Hinduism are inherently so.

How does him being Muslim even matters?

I mean I'm from India and one of the greatest presidents (by the way who also has a big hand behind ISRO and DRDO) we had was a Muslim, APJ Abdul Kalam.

As long as he does his job well I don't see how anything else even matters.

Referring to someone with their religion, gender, race or anything like that is so discriminatory and is done by people having strong prejudice against these stuff.

After a year or at least months we'll truly know if the people chose a right mayor or not, hating him from starting is insane. This might be one of the reasons why someone who has a great potential to be a rightful politician prefers not to be involved at all.

I don't hate Muslims. I feel sorry for New Yorkers. If even some of Mamdani's socialist plans get implemented, NYC will hurt. In particular, his plan to tax the rich more will lead to some of them leaving NYC; there goes a major source of tax revenues, since 1% of them pay 46% of overall tax revenues. That means Mamdani will have to raise taxes for the middle class to fund his plans for free buses and city-owned grocery stores. Socialism has never worked anywhere. It's only a matter of time before it fails in NYC.

Is fine if he does balanced decisions and leads... can cleanup a lot of problems. But what I'm hearing from the wealthy that pays the taxes is not good. They've been leaving well before this... but does this create a bigger drive out?

Zero hate. Optimism is high. I can understand why some people are concerned with how he's going to do what he says in a way that actually pays off in positive dividends for the city, but he has an actual plan and he wants to help avg people to thrive. What plans did Cuomo or Sliwa have? They concentrated talking down about Mamdani and he crushed them with being intelligent and actually having a plan that requires trying new things. The same old bs political rhetoric isn't helping NYC. Asking millionaires to pay 2% more isn't a lot to ask and some people and businesses can pay a little more so the rest of us can live here too.

I don't have patience for opinions that are just racist or opinions that were formed without ever really listening to Mamdani speak in more than ten seconds clips. Like how many times does he have to say I'm not going to make you eat halal food or I'm not a Jihadist.
