I glad I am done with a government job right now. Not on food stamps, not flying these days. So, for me, the shutdown is not that bad for me. How about you is this shutdown concerning? Comments welcomed

Three million Americans travel by air daily, much more on holidays. Air travel controllers are working without pay, and your idiot is threatening not to give them back pay? The military is not being paid and your idiot is "expecting" donations from billionaires to float their payroll? Meanwhile, he spends $3.5 million on a Gatsby Party while families go hungry?

The government is shut down because your "party" refuses to extend the subsidies that will make THE ONLY HEALTH INSURANCE most Americans can afford to BE affordable. Is that concerning enough for you, Jimmy?

Not directly, yet. I have a sister who works for the federal government. I keep touching base with her, and she is yet unaffected. Which leads me to believe that there’s some hyperbole involved in the reports of government workers being overlooked or abused in some way by their bosses and department heads.

For now, it's not affecting me but it will affect most of us if it continues into January/February when we try to get a tax refund.

Nope. In fact while I see people complaining about food stamps and talking about robbing stores all over the place, my neighbors are trying to forcefully give me free food that they have no room to store which I also have no room to store which is being pushed on them because the food banks/charities have no room to store in their warehouses, because everyone is doing fine and the donations are greater than the need.

I'm not on food stamps either, nor do I ask for free food, but my neighbors who volunteer to serve the community end up with way too much which the food banks want someone to take because they don't want to just throw it in a dumpster and for it to go to waste. So I try to take some of it and put freezers so it doesn't go tot he dump...

I guess that is the deference between Florida where Americans ask not what our country can do for us, but what we can do for our country unlike New York who have their hand out screaming gimme free stuff while they starve. Productivity produced abundance.
