I dont believe young people will get any happier. I think people in their 20s are relatively so broke and hopeless, and not amazed by almost anything because of prior exposure with the internet, that the mid-life crisis will just become a horribly unhappy time.

No, but I know I am very much an exception to the rule here. I am very blessed to live where I do and I appreciate it everyday because I am well aware of how many people my age are unhappy. I often seriously wonder what I can do to help humanity during these "unhappy times" since it is my generation that has to come up with some shred of a clue for the generations that follow us. I mean on one hand we live in the most technological advanced amazing times in history. There is so much happening on so many levels so fast. It is truly historical times we are living in right now. And my generation is right in the middle. We are in a place that has never, ever in history been seen or done before. We have to come up with all new answers. The older generations can no longer really help us. They have never done it. No one has. So, yeah, there's some unhappiness. But I also believe, with all my heart, somehow, someway, somewhere, there is hope as well.

This is definitely not the unhappiest time to ever be a human. I'd say the Black Plague was a whole lot worse. LIving through world wars that involved your country is a whole lot worse.

These times might be difficult, but not the worst. We have a long history of human life behind us that was much more difficult.

No, people just believe that they are miserable because they are told that they are 24/7 so they will go out and buy more crap that from companies that tell them it will make them happy.
Most people lhave indoor plumbing with hot water, endless food choices at the supermarket, access to healthcare and plenty of entertainment choices.
It is way better that the 1800s.
