8 moI doubt individual checks will be sent out to people. Instead, people may get additional tax breaks, no taxes on tips, lower federal fuel tax, etc. that effectively total up to about a $2000 savings.

Now I feel bad because I hate boasting and being cocky and arrogant, but I knew a guy who worked a minumum wage job back when it was only $9 an hour and could afford to go to Europe evey year, so I don't know where you got this delusional idea that you need to make 100 k to travel.
It's not how much you make, it's how well you manage it. If you're making 200K a year and can't afford a holiday, you ever have very high standards or manage your income poorly

So it's possible but it does have to come from somewhere. With Alaska it's the trans alaskan pipeline and oil. Basically residents are share holders almost like a stock in company. Don is clearly pulling this money out of his ass so it's not going to be Materialize anything.
It is interesting to see if anybody taxes the hell out of AI and give the money back to the people as it steals jobs.

8 mo$2,000 doesn’t pay for his tariffs, if anything he admits that tariffs raised prices for consumers. So why not pull tariffs back or stop this madness now? Because it is profitable, extremely profitable increasing the wealth of the richest while the American people get screwed over.
If your buddy took $5 from you every week for the past year then gave you back $60, does that sound like a good deal to you? Oh and by the way he continues to take the $5.
This isn’t policy, it is robbery.
30 Reply 2.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's the same old thing. Only people who do their taxes will qualify.
But there are some people who don't make enough money to have to do taxes. So, they always get screwed and they are the one's suffering the worst.
I've seen all different amounts of money that will go to the tax paying Americans. I've been $1400 and $1600, now $2000. 🤷🏼‍♀️52 Reply- 8 mo
I haven't filed taxes in 4 years. Insufficient income. But I did for 48 years. Does that count?
- 8 mo
@Sal_Monella
No, that doesn't count. It only counts and qualities you if you did your taxes in 2023 AND 2024.
6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. He has been talking about this for almost a year. I'm not holding my breath.
Also, it will probably be contingent on a person's tax returns. I doubt if the government will just be sending out checks to every citizens who is below a certain income level.40 Reply- 809 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
8 moCan't really trust what he says. He's not an honest person. Where's the Doge checks? He just says whatever he wants. He just wants his polls to go up.
Reality is we can't rely on the government to help. Many need two and three jobs now to survive. We can count on our paychecks being garnished for them to give foreign governments bombs to kill women and children and know it will be used as little of it here to benefit us as possible. It's funny but our tax money should make our lives better but it does not.
10 Reply 679 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. If it happens it will not be good for inflation. Basic economics will apply. People will spend... demand will increase... supply will decrease... prices will rise. This will make inflation worse. Best to pay down the ridiculous and unsustainable US debt.

I get what Trump is doing, trying to incentivize paying taxes, but you're right, this stimulus will do the same as all the others. It's the one thing Trump has done that I'm really opposed to. He needs to stay consistent with his policy of no subsidies.

8 mowhat's next, Mandami going to hand out $10,000 to people:)?
when we have corrupt currency, it's easy to print up $ and pass it out to buy votes.
by one pocket they take, the other they give. It at least helps people pay insurance premiums.
there is no net gain here I suspect. We're all a bunch of bait fish swimming around being predated, while the titanic takes on water.
In other news, the top income earners made so many billions it make your head spin.
20 Reply 3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Hopefully would be a good thing for you lot. I'm not sure why so many comments are about it should go towards national debt? They do realize... that is never going to be paid off and is a fake number?
Look how much debt Uk is in or several other countries it changes nothing about my life or the many who live here nor does it change anybody life in America.
If that number goes down how would that actually help you?21 Reply- 8 mo
The intrest payment is still very real but in a lot of ways it's a double positive getting a loan from investors and super safe for investors to break even on inflation.
"If you owe the bank $100, that's your problem. If you owe the bank $100 million, that's the bank's problem."
That is a pretty unique privilege being a global superpower. With the current political situation becoming more isolationist in the state's and China aiming to grow more global dominance, the current economy strategies are tuning negitive then doubling down a loing bet.
We are turning inward while left holding the bag that the global economy was sharing the load.
27.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There was talk about this a few months ago. It never got any traction. Part of me says use it to help pay down the debt. On the other hand if the Republicans lose in 2028 (OMG) the democrats will just piss money away on illegal aliens and we will be right back where we started so I might as well get the $2000 myself.

Who cares about inflation when the money is rolling in like this!!
30 Reply - 6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
8 moBullshit as usual. The tariffs are quietly going away because they didn't work at all. There's no "billions and billions" of tariff dollars being collected. But it's a typical Trump move to give away $2,000 to try and win your love, when the insurance premiums for your health care are going up $5,000 because of him.

Insurance premiums are going up because of Obama. Obamacare was designed with government subsidies, but only for a limited time; they were never intended to be permanent, only to get Obama past his term as president, which is all he cared about. This has been well-established for over 10 years.
Congress kept continuing extensions of the subsidies, meaning we are worrying about our own insurance and other expenses and paying for other people's Obamacare insurance.
That's untenable, and leads to the printing of money, which leads to inflation, which we saw under Biden, and which everyone is complaining about only now, as if it were Trump's fault.
Trump is reversing all of that, but 15 years of intentional economic damage doesn't get fixed overnight.

8 moTypical trump stunt! Now that he has made a mess of this and the ignorant MAGA clan is feeling the punch from the tariffs, his grand plan now is to shove a bit of money in everyone's face to appease them.
