Yep, it's a great booby trap for communist immigrants, being that anti-communist laws are still on the books. If you come to American and are associated with a communist group you can be deported and even have "earned" your citizenship, that can be revoked if you lied about it on your application. Communist always want to infiltrate America, so you have to set landmines for them.

Snakeyes7 America has enemies globally, it's good to allow them to hang themselves. Why spend a lot of time and energy chasing them and hunting them down, when you can just wait for them to slip the noose around their own neck and take themselves out?

@SolitarySolace They can be and in time they may be... It all depends on the will and timing of those in power. The laws are still active, so it all depends on which cases take priority first. It would seem Mamdani is a priority because he will damage NYC, but you can't just tell New Yorkers that, you have to show them. They have to see it with their own eyes, they have to hear it, they have to feel it, they have to smell it, nothing teaches life lessons like experience. They voted for it, so now they have to endure the pain, and then you remove the guy after he has served his purpose so that this doesn't happen against for several generations.
