I hear a lot about police de-escalation and how instead lethal methods are the go to alternative? Did unarmed civilians get more dangerous?

I don't have a problem with a police officer having a gun, but I do have a problem with them using it when they shouldn't. Having a president tell them that he doesn't care if the police kills them. But this isn't entirely because of trump. We've had this problem since the 1960's.

Even if a cop is intimidated by an unarmed civilian, they can take a non-lethal shot or one to incapacitate (shoot the hand with the knife in it or the arm). Do you know of a story that just didn't sit right with you because the killing wasn't called for? What happened and what came of it? I'll put the story that affected me in the update.

A problem with a lot of unarmed civilians is that they dont believe there will be consequences if they threaten or attack an armed law enforcement officer. Some say its to do with IQ dropping and drug use.

For instance a before Christmas I was in my yard and garage at 3am sorting a few things out and the police came by investigating a possible burglary in progress. Now I didn't get aggressive, threaten them, attack them or any of that. I simply complied, brought them into the house and showed them my ID and some pictures of my family. My wife made them some coffee and they left satisfied after a friendly encounter. I've seen footage of people getting shot by cops because for some reason they decided to attack police.

I do the same whenever I get pulled over, which happens every few months. I accept that they are doing their job and cooperate in a helpful friendly way and I've never got shot. At no point have I ever disobeyed law enforcement and tried to run them over as that would result un 3 shots to the head.

do you not feel harassed by the cops? i would get pulled over in my teenage years by the cops constantly. i was an easy target. non-white in a very recognizable car in a white town. my dad also drove my car and he was also constantly pulled over. back then i was dumb. but i should have filed some sort of harassment from the city.

Who says i wasn't arrested? Arrested and convicted are two different things and regardless im smart enough to know that even if im being arrested and im innocent; dont attack the police or go fof their gun or try to run them over or pull my gun on them.

Never said she was but I've been stopped, questioned. One time I fitted a description. I didn't go ape over it and attack the cops or accuse them of racial profiling

This is hysterical. Shooting the knife out of somebody's hand is stuff you see on TV. Dealing with protesters can be dangerous especially since there have been instances where protesters have shot at police. In some cases lethal force should be allowed..

yes. lethal force should be allowed in some cases. i mean i could shoot a knife out of a hand, but it's easier to shoot the hand like i said. but they don't get trained on incapacitating non-lethal shots. but they do get target practice and should be able to hit what they aim at. but even stray bullets kill more people than they should.

You know nothing of guns or pistol training. You don’t shoot to maim or kill. You aim at the biggest target which is the torso so you don’t miss and hit an innocent. Pistols are not that accurate and are hard to aim under stress. Shooting at a small target will get you killed

to me that sounds like they aren't properly trained and are only trained to kill.
