How does that saying go? "Lawyers have weeks to discuss decisions we have seconds to make"? Something like that. I DO think we need to have a dialogue, as a society, about the role of police and the kinds of doctrines that should be guiding their actions, but I don't even know how we'd get that started anymore. More clear communication can only make things better, but is anyone even listening any more? The militarization I'm seeing scares me, but how much of that is a response to society screaming that these people are murderers?

So I ended up watching all of these and I think the cops handled it well. The first one sadly was an ambushed, so cops should be more careful how they proceed with those kinds of situations. The next one made me mad because he was resisting and kept resisting. Cop did a good job, he shot at him because he was a threat to him with the knife. The third one couldn't tell what happened looks like he got shot by a taser but also with the gun, either way cops were doing good in my opinion. The minute you have something in your hand you are a threat and expect to get shot at. Why can't people just follow what cops say instead of making things much worse

Nobody but those charged with investigating them should be making a judgment as to whether use of lethal (or even non-lethal) force in these incidents is justified or not. Police shootings of citizens are probably the most thoroughly investigated, and scrutinized, matters in policing (especially in current times). A single bodycam video isn't enough - there's always more to the story. There's no real place for the court of public opinion during trials, nor is there one for officer-involved shootings.

He was clearly resisting arrest. Cops are trained to never give up their weapon. There was a cop that lived in my town that was struck in the head with a rock and his attacker took the cop's gun and killed him with it. Then he shot and killed a woman who was watching this through a window.
I know hundreds of cops and nobody wants to shoot anyone. If you threaten a cop or resist arrest or shoot at a cop you will get shot.

the 2nd one I question the process. but it's easy to say that when I'm not the one doing the job... probably a better way to go about that.

What an awful job, I couldn't do better other than to build a robot to replace them and devise solutions to remove humans from the engagement.

Reallly sad state of affairs. Thus, I judge the police gently and the citizens, schools, and parents, hollywood, critically.

Fine police work! Bodycams I believe should be a part of every law enforcement officer's equipment. Tasers usually get the job done, but some fuckers are immune so pepper spray! Also when actual guns are involved, someone is usually primed to be shot in the back of the head.

when the police take out criminals its good for society. We can't expect the police to execute like perfect all knowing robots when they are being shot at. You couldn't. The ones starting the trouble is the responsible ones
