I have done many private crime fighting, as the police we have here are useless. In fact they are over weight over paid and under used by their own wishes.
They claim they are hero, but I do the same job for free. And get better results.
Can you do better than the police?

I think with the right restrictions, Like they have in the wild West of America, bounty hunters and freelance law people. We should have access to any prosecuted against you. Is it fair that you pay taxes for people not only to protect you, but put you in prison?

I think the only solution to the current problem is a combination of approaches. First we need to have leaders in charge who the people have confidence in. Second we need better training for officers regarding things like defusing and deescalating situations. We need to give officers better equipment choices. Not all so-called non lethal devices are 100% not lethal. Activists need to go on ride-alongs with patrol officers so they can see what the other side looks like. There are a lot of perception problems. And body cameras need to be made universally mandatory and stay on from clock in to clock out without the officer being able to turn it off or on or adjust the microphone gain. Finally we need to do a better job screening police. Far too many sign up for the police academy who look at certain groups as the enemy from the start. Too many bring an agenda or a chip on their shoulder to the job

In some countries, the police are getting less money and crime gone up. It is not crime has gone up. But police accepting more complaints as crimes to get more money.
