Mamdani will fail because the Muslims expect him to cater to Muslims need and beliefs and that’s not gonna fly very well.
Trump has control of most of the federal money that goes to New York City. Mamdani knows that. He will have to walk a tight rope with Trump.

President Trump was being gracious to somebody that he invited to the White House. He also said that they will probably never agree on ICE deporting all the illegal aliens in New York City. This will insure that New York City will not get much in federal funding.

I don't know what happened here, but it strikes me that Trump is doing the opposite of what was expected of him in releasing Epstein papers and also essentially endorsing Mamdani. I suspect that he tampered with the Epstein papers to the extent that his name doesn't appear in them anymore, or if it does appear in them, it would be in a benign fashion. And he also has somehow co-opted or bribed Mamdani. Trump plays dirty. He always has, he always will.

I was confident that Mamdani would do his best before Trump had anything to say about it. So, Trump's opinion on the matter is irrelevant to me, like it is for anything else.
