At what age did you start making plans for death?

Nobody lives forever, and at some point you have to start planning for the world without you in it anymore. At what age did you start doing this? What prompted it?

I’m making them currently….. my mortality sunk in a while ago. I’m a control freak, and I love the idea of being prepared or organized, should something happen. So at the very least, one should have a medical directive (like no diapers, no feeding tubes, yes pull the plug…etc.) in addition to a will of some kind. Having one is better than not having one, and you got to get copies out so people are aware of it!

I don’t really think about it in terms of “planning for death,” more like being aware of life and preparing for the practical things that matter.

For me, that started in my mid 20s, the age where you realize you’re not invincible anymore.

Not in a dark way, just a mature one.

You start thinking about health, stability, the people you love, and how you want your life to actually feel.

It’s less about death, more about living intentionally.
