We all have a death penalty, it could be tonight, or tomorrow, or 30 years from now. Some people need to leave, they have no right to have opportunity to hurt others.

I’m against the death penalty.

Not because I’m soft on consequences, but because I don’t trust any system enough to give it the power to decide who deserves to live or die.

Mistakes happen, bias exists, and justice should be about accountability, not finality.

I believe in protecting society and holding people responsible.

I just don’t believe ending a life is the answer.

I’m against it because I think life in prison is worse. I wouldn’t want to be trapped in a cage everyday for the rest of my life. A life without freedom is miserable.

It's not worth the money. It's not like they suffer forever. They suffer for a relatively short time and then die like nothing happened so it isn't really doing anything.

I’m not sure how many people know this but the death penalty is actually more expensive than life in prison.

That's simply not true, when you take into account the need for more cells to house the other incarcerated. Not to mention, the number of repeat criminals who actually like being incarcerated.

All well until you execute the wrong person. At least a wrongly convicted lifer has a chance on the outside. You can only pardon a wrongly executed corpse-you can’t release it.
