im against slavery.

but there is sometimes spiritual and historical debates over sometimes it being more merciful and sometimes culturally its better to be a slave treated right and treated like a person and eventually get freedom

American slavery was very evil. this is more about indentured servitude (before leftist get all angry, a lot of modern people are under "slavery" condition by your perspective. and I think its horrible)

Tell ya what Billy, you can be my slave for the rest of your life. You have no voice and no choice. Education isn't in the plan for you. You'll do what I say when I want. I'll fuck your wife and your kids will become my slaves too. If I want to sell you to another slave owner, I will. Or maybe I'll sell your kids instead. You will never own any sort of property. You will not be allowed to vote or change the system in any way. When you die you can look back on a life that was absolutely wasted in service to me, someone who doesn't give a damn about you. You can feel proud of the life you've given your wife and children.

Does that sound like a fulfilling way to spend your lifetime?

Taking away god given liberties is wrong under any circumstances. The buying, selling and trading of human beings like livestock is also wrong.
If someone willingly relinquishes without duress their freedom in exchange for something like “safety and security” you’re closer to an indentured servitude situation than slavery. I can see valid arguments on both sides of that, but i’m generally against it without full context.
