Trending & News Breaking out of existing bad behavior patterns or your current socio economic status is not some trivial thing that happens at the drop of a hat. It requires discipline and persistent effort over a long period of time. Those aren't things that most people can simply choose to do. It also requires you to get rid of the people in your social circle who are dragging you down and go find better people to surround yourself with. A lot of people have trouble letting go and venturing into the unknown. Most people avoid those types of risk.
Drop of a hat sounds a little too nonchalant and quick sounding but of course the daily choices people make directly affect the outcomes.
I agree BUT no one may see any evidence of it for awhile. Like if someone makes the decision they are going to do something positive with their life and they mean it to themselves and it makes them feel better about themselves and their life , then it has started, right then and there, at the drop of a hat. They have made a decision and it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks after that.
It's not that simple. I'm sure homeless people would love to do that but it's not so simple for them to do.

You can't turn your life around in a drop of a hat. It takes a good 6 months to a year

I don't know about turn it around. It kind of depends how f***ed up their life is to begin with. But they can start the change at the drop of a hat.

No, it is probably one of the hardest things to do. However , everyone is capable of doing it.
Not at the drop of a hat, it's not that easy.
I’m just stuck here waiting for my Prince Charming
Spoken like a truly privileged white guy who is about to tell us all about Oprah Winfrey.
Turning around your life often takes hard work.
