Why do people think the solution to our problems is to go back to the past way of doing things?

I mean... If the old way worked and the new way obviously does not work... There's only one thing to do. In IT, it's called "rollback", I think.

Yes, rollback sometimes will work but it is mostly a band aid. I always said that there is no going beck.

Sometimes the way we used to do things were better than a new way that has not worked out. I was part of the experiment that was known as the "new math" it was a dismal failure and was abandoned but the kids in my age group were never able to catch up

I guess people trust old ways because they worked before and feel familiar they remember the past as simpler and better so going back seems like the easiset solution
