In lot of cases farmers are using and wasting huge amounts of water and driving infrastructure costs. You have three choices.

• Let the farmers run the reservoirs and aquifers dry.
• Tax the farmers for their usage to pay for infrastructure
• Pass laws requiring farmers to be more water efficient.

Farmers seem to think socialism sucks until the taxpayers are propping them up with free water, farm loans, artificial price supports, technical assistance, disaster relief, government crop insurance, crop subsidies, etc. Farmers are the biggest welfare queens in the USA and have been for 75 years.

Almond growers in California suck up 10% of the water in the state. Here's a thought. Grow something lese.

Paying all those $20 per hour minimum wage workers at Walmart and Rousses is what drives up food prices. Farmers and Ranchers barely even make a living doing what they're doing.

Actually, it's must more sinister than just trying to "tax" an aquifer. It's to assert ownership of the water supply.

I can understand limiting usage to conserve the resource, but the government should not be allowed to claim ownership of a natural resource.

@loveslongnails Inflation was just reported at 2.5%. Way down from the 9+% we had when Biden was president. The target is 2% and Trump wants to make it lower because it was 1.7% when he left office. Anyone that has a 401K plan or a retirement account is most likely invested in the stock market. Since January my retirement account has increased by over 15% . When democrats were in charge it went down 20% and just before Biden left it finally recovered to what it was 4 years ago. The problem with that is that it could only purchase 80% of what it could 4 years ago because of inflation.
The price of food is coming down. America is importing beef from other countries which will make beef prices go down. Gas is the lowest in 4 years and that will make the price of everything that arrives by truck go down.

Yes it is true that in Trumps first year prices have not gone down much but everyone remembers how their grocery bill went up 20-30 dollars every week.
