Hundreds of UK Farmers driving Tractors have taken over London England in protest to a new law requiring farmers and their families to pay a huge tax that they consider to be totally unfair.

We wonder if the farmers are paying London's Congestion Charge (£18/day) plus the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge (around £12.50/day) for non-compliant vehicles.

Asking farmers to pay tax was never going to go down well. The issue is farmers are often asset rich but cash poor, that's why you always see us driving a nice new 4x4 or buying a £10,000 stud bull for our turnip farm. You never make a profit.

The thing about agriculture property relief was i was meant to keep farms in families without lumbering people with a massive tax bill because of this. It's survived several governments because scraping it would raise peanuts when you look at the bigger picture.

As for London. London has a mass protest of some sort every week, far right marches, pro Palestine, ban oil, etc, so a tractor demo doesn't cause any more disruption than they're used to. The average cyclist holds up the traffic far better than any tractor.

That farmers drive their subsided hundred thousand EURO tractors through capital cities in EU belongs meanwhile to tradition. Even though UK isn't in EU anymore but mechanics of subsiding farmers remained mostly like in EU. The rule is simple, if you don't complain you don't get anything, that's why teacher, healthcare worker, farmer, miners... protest regularly despite their living standard increased massively in last 30 years.

It might be time for the UK government to wake up, smell the dissent, and stop favoring foreigners trying to change everything to foreign values, and take care of the people who feed them. What if the farmers banded together and they all stopped selling their farm products as a nationwide action, and all farmers as one decide what a fair price is, and sell as a block for the fair price, and that all unfair taxes are canceled, or no farm product is sold till they are vacated. I wonder what would happen?
