AI will take over lots of jobs soon. And some people really do believe they will provide Universal basic income?

Even today, when we work hard they don't pay. Especially in the merciless western governments and countries, there are people who work hard but still homeless.

And when robots take the jobs from humans, why would those fuckers provide us free money shit?

not true, lots of people get free money. if you work though, you aren't getting it except for if you make too little and the govt gives you $ back at tax time.

AI will displace so many they will have no choice but to control those people. don't know that it will mean $ for everyone.

the issue is productivity. the other issue is cost... how much costs to run the AI and generate the energy. it's not free. and those things have a limited life span unlike a human that can run for long time, AI will need replaced. But AI can work around the clock and no union. It's an interesting equation to consider whether there is net benefit and long term costs.

Universal basic income is a pipe dream. The 1% are never gonna let that happen. Nah, the historical solution for a population that has nothing left to lose is revolution. Drag the 1% out of their mansions, yachts, and penthouses and into the streets where mobs are waiting with pitchforks, ropes, and torches. Burn it all to the ground and start over. Not an optimal solution but that has always been how these cycles of oppression and revolt followed by rebuilding operate.

Anti riot tax. Realistically the billionair class want to leave the planet but it's too complicated for now. While they are stuck in here with us they have to do some level of bread and circus to keep alive.

It's also not "free money." It's a dividend to share holders. Coke cola and ExxonMobil have been giving out dividends for over century now.

If robots are taking people's jobs it's fair to take a tax equal to an income tax that the robot stole a job from.

Realistically its going to pay the government deficit for the next century. From there the people left working will have a lower tax burden theoretically.

That is exactly what I say. The government will not be able to provide handouts to everyone who is put out of a job. Nobody seems in a big hurry to address this. Is just full speed ahead with AI.
