Why did God say, “Vengeance is mine.” Why not let us do it?

In that context, we are meant to understand that our own sensibilities are fallible and God is not. Therefore, we trust in him more than we trust ourselves. However, some would argue that therein lies a copout leading to lawlessness and anarchy. I would not agree with that. Though man’s laws are meant not to be put above God’s, we must strive for law and order in any society.

Probably never said by a being so powerful they could create the entire universe. "Vengeance and Revenge" are such blatantly human concepts. There's a shit ton of the Bible that was written strictly to support a certain belief, and not because it's divinely inspired AT ALL. If you think every word of the Bible has some divine connection to it, you're a god damn idiot.

Thank you for your wishes, but if God loves you so much, why would hell even exist? Why is your first reaction that "he's going to hell if he doesn't believe EVERY WORD of the Bible is God's sacred truth?" Why is that, my Christian friend?

And seriously, do you NOT know that Kings, rulers and the Church had many things added to the Bible on their say so? And other things omitted? The vast majority of scholars and Bible experts are actually in agreement that many of Paul's letters were not written by him at all. And where are the missing books of the Bible?

I never said there were NO truths in the Bible. What I said was clear... if you think every single word of it is God's mouth to paper, you'd be quite the idiot. I'll also say this; more than half the world doesn't believe in your book, but they believe in a God. I believe there's a higher power as well, but I surely don't believe it's the vengeful, revenge seeking, "going to kill all my own creations" God that you want to think it is.

Why? Because it makes no sense. Ascribing human flaws to your God in an attempt to make it feel more understandable doesn't do it for me, nor does it seriously explain the mis-translated passage about "being made in God's image". Peace be with you too.
